A journal bearing turbo doesn't need an oil restrictor.

My Technician told me exactly what he did and how it went together. I have no reason not to believe him. Thanks for your concern though, I will take it into consideration.

Well....... Had a couple good starts, and it did it again tonight after i left the gym. I drove to a local autozone turned it off and back on and still the same thing. Bought a new aftermarket MAF from autozone but didnt fix it. :( I'll give you a call tomorrow chris.

I have seen oil retrictors on a journal bearing turbo but was because of big oil supply line,And I just assumed it was a bb unit since Chris has been using the comp's,but I guess everybody don't wanta spend the money on bb setup,or water cooled or a billet wheel for that matter, hope he can resolve the issue soon, surely there sum good help in carolina

Comp has told us the diameter restrictor to use on there journal bearing turbo's. We have had to use them in the past on there journal bearing turbo's due to the high oil pressure on some of these engines. The turbo on Diaz's car is a ballbearing and has a restrictor as well.

I didn't know he had a bb turbo I just figured it wasn't... Must be pushing alot of oil pressure to need one on a journal.

Chris, dont our kits have 80 lbs resized stock injectors? Is it possible that one of the injectors got messed up durring this proccess and is causing his issues by allowing air in the fuel system? I had a jeep once that would always run like crap until it got warmed up, injectors were old as hell and would leak down when the jeep was turned off.

Yes, they are all flow tested and pressure tested before they leave FIC( Fuel Injector Connection). We are actually checking the fuel pressure and leakdown of a vehicle here at the shop with the same injectors that starts normally, and its twin turbo's vs. the fuel pressure and leakdown that john is seeing.

UPDATE:

After talking with John and going over some diagnostics and the fact that the starting issue is not a constant issue, I have contacted FIC and after talking with them about the issue, we are thinking that there is a leaky injector or something else so we are having a brand New set of injectors overnighted to them. Hopefully everyone on this site will understand that sometimes issues arrive, however it is how the issue is worked with, or taken care of and that we(HPS) are doing everything possible to care of John and this issue that has occured.

Oh, hold up Chris dont be taken parts out of my kit to fix SS_DIAZ Camaro.

On a serious note, I hope that this fixes the issue. I hate seeing a man with out a properly running SS.

Speedmon that is a good read. In every proffession there are definitely crooks and people who do not know what they are doing. I will say this. There has been a slight problem with my build. Chris has been paid in full and he his gone above and beyond to make sure that things get taken care of. Not only is he getting it done, he is also putting in new axle and a methanol kit as well. If I did not think he was ethical or trust him, i would move on to another shop. Since the first time I talked to him till now he has always been a straight shooter and i would recommend people to his shop. I understand this is a forum and that you have freedom of speech but your off base here.
