Just figured mine out ... Approximately $575 per month financing with Pen Fed and $428 increase every 6 months for insurance. Was not as bad as I thought it was going to be!

25F and 54M
Roanoke, Texas and Kingsville, Texas IBM 2SS/RS and Red Jewel Tint 2SS/RS GEICO -- $350 each for 6 months Loan – $700 - $725/ month 5.25% APR $500 down on each vehicle (Then our dealer gave us $500 off as a "discount" as well as an extra $600 in order for him to have the cars on the lot. My dad's was the first one delivered to our dealership and they wanted customers to be able to see what the Camaro looked like. Nobody was allowed to sit in it -- except for me!)The IBM is mine and the Red Jewel Tint is my father’s. I want to say that we financed via GMAC but I don’t know the details yet… Mom added on some package for me that includes a spare tire, rent a car, full coverage if car is in accident, etc. My mom handled my paperwork since I was not home when my car came in on the 28th, and no I still haven’t seen it – and won’t see it until I drive home to pick it up on the 12th… AGONY!:(

Loan is a line of credit, interest only about 100 bucks a month, anything I want to pay on top of that I do.
Plates are about 1200 bucks for a year. I spend more on gas and carwashes for it in a month than I do for actually owning it. |

Hell we can't even get a quote. The car is to new. Our insurance company said they will insure it and when they get rates they will inform us. What is that.

If I play my cards right, I should nail $260 a month for 60 months on the car, and as for insurance... well, I'm sure it'll be higher. xD

I just called Nationwide. They quoted $100/month for an LT (I'm 41 with clean record).
She told me that if the Financing company allow me to drop collision/liability during the winter (while the car is not being used) it would only cost me $10/month during that time.y Last edited by homerlex; 06-05-2009 at 08:33 AM. Reason: typo |

Auto loans and Home loans do not use the same factors to determine your "score". I had a hard time buying my first house because of my ex wife. The morgatge company told me to go buy a car to show a new large purchase on my credit with a good payment history. (about 6 months later, I bought my first house) It is WAY easier to get a car then a house. As long as your debt to income ratio is ok you should be fine. If you "score" is still over 620, your rate shouldn't be that bad. Hope this helps.
