While I do ask that everyone wear their seatbelt, whether it be driving 1/8mile down the road to check their mail or doing 60mph on the highway cruising to work or 140mph on the track. I know there are still those who think that "its their life, no one elses" that's being affected. and sadly thats not the truth. your friends and family, us as an internet community, all care. while that might not be enough to sway you into wearing your seatbelt all the time, if you could do me one favor. wear your seatbelt if you have any passengers, and make sure they are wearing their seatbelts as well. I've seen too many accidents where 1 person in the car wasnt wearing their seatbelt and was tossed around the car like a ragdoll and took some of their friends with them when they left this world. as well as a flying body striking other vehicles and causing further accidents. being in the military and an SC resident, its against the law for me to drive without buckling up. and all too often, I see people out on the road, blabbing on their cell phones or cruising with their seat reclined all the way back and driving without a seat belt. another thing for me is that if I die in an auto accident and I'm not wearing my seatbelt, my life insurance is null and void. same goes for my health insurance if I live. one of the few times I have ever driven without a seatbelt, I was 17 and a guy slung mud all over my car, so I jumped in, fired her up and took off in a pissed off rage without buckling up. hit a 90* bend in the road doing 50mph.... and skidded right off the road into the train tracks across the ditch. I was thrown thru the passenger side window and spent the next 8 weeks in the icu.... hooked up to tubes and life support equipment. car was totaled, my life was nearly totaled. I still have the scars across my chest, head, and legs where I scraped thru the broken glass and gravel. you dont always die when ejected from a car. but I know for a fact that I would have walked away (maybe limped) had I been wearing my seatbelt. and would have had more money after the fact as I wouldnt have had to spend thousands on hospital bills.

(steps off soapbox)

If you dont want to wear your seatbelt... fine. dont. it is your choice, but just remember, its not just you that is being affected.

if you want to disable the seatbelt chime.... splice the wiring where it connects into the lock.

or get something like this:

Now that Spike has kindly answered the question I am closing this thread. And did you know in the state of Georgia if you are driving a pickup the law does not require you to wear a seatbelt..strange huh? But it's the law

wow.

I cannot believe this. All she wanted was an answer to her question, and you guys turn it into this.

I know I'm posting on a closed thread, but man I cannot believe some people on this site sometimes.
