Definitely going to play with some different shot sizes and see what makes sense.

I'm pretty impressed with that Heartbeat keeping up with the larger cube build, gives me hope with my F1A and 427 but that torque from the PD is SICK!!!!

Nice build. Surprised I didn't see any posts from the resident LSX bashers on this forum telling you to get a used LS7 shortblock.

oh my ls7 didn't cut it, couldn't handle the boost. lol. thus the lsx427 was put in the mix.

lol yeah 2.3L heartbeat able to give 15lbs of boost on the 427 without overspinning it.

I don't really run it at the track, its a highway sleeper for the most part if you know what I mean

LSX is great for 1000+, but added cost, weight, heat for a lower power build. Once he add a 200-300 shot then the LSX would start to shine. Otherwise he should have stayed aluminum if he never planned on going over ~850.

Isn't that just one opinion vs another?

Hell, no one should buy anything but aerial atoms with LS swaps if they truly want to go fast, or maybe we all shouldn't buy anything but open wheels for handling instead of modding the stock stuff?

I won't take away from your knowledge and your input to the forum, because that's definitely unrivaled and greatly appreciated, but at what point does someone go from making a mistake to buying what they want because they can?

There's no right or wrong way to make horsepower, I've never understood this mentality.

From now on everyone either goes big block or stays stock, because that's the real way to make big power

I kid I kid

It isn't opinion that it weighs more, cools worse, cost more, and for low power has no advantages.

Its like running a HUGE cam to make 450rwhp. Sure it can be done, with many downsides, but if you wanted you could. It isn't about the right way or wrong way to make power, it is about spending your money wiselessly for best results. If people like to waste money, or spend more to go slower, then I will gladly take that money as a paypal donation and put it to good use.

Tires would be a great example. Its like someone saying "run MT drag radials, they are awesome and hook up well" when the person wants just a normal street tire for their 400hp car, with good all weather performance, good handling, and life. I would say that is more than an opinion to recommend a drag tire that is poor in rain, expensive, doesn't last long, and impacts handling. Iron blocks are like that, lots of downsides, but for certain applications they are great. Hell, I have a LSX block in my car.

Did Andy have the LS7 sitting there used? Reading thru your threads, he put it in your car about the same time I had him install my LSX427.

LSX427 E85 Heartbeat

It's important to note that people that come across these forums don't always know what they need when it comes to building power. That being said, I feel it necessary to say the same thing that nick said. LSX block really only has an advantage when your going past 1000whp.

Yes because you can is the only reason you need to do it, but whether or not it makes sense is a matter of fact not opinion.
