Stupid question..... How much coolant fluid did you have leak out when you took the hoses off?

Changed my hoses out today and it looks a lot better

Ject......it took about 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon. I had a clean catch can under the car and took off the front heater hose on the water pump first and attached one of the new hoses to it and drained it into the catch can so I could re-use the coolant. Worked perfect.

guys, theres a drain valve at the bottom of the radiator on the drivers side. makes a clean and easy way to drain a gallon or so from the engine.

That would make it too easy.

The clamps back on the firewall are a complete pain the the @SS to get omg... spent 2 1/2 hours just to get 1 hose replaced. No matter what tools I used I just couldn't get that last clamp off (up by the firewall) .... I gave up and figured I'd try again another time.

Remove the coil pack from the valve cover to get much more room. Easy to do, like 5 or 6 bolts and unplug the plug wires. Also, to remove the hose that is cemented on, just slice the hose lengthwise and twist. Good luck.

i don't know if it makes a difference, but my hoses weren't glued to the tube, but the clamp was glued to the hose, only at the firewall. but yes a major pain in the ass oh i figured out how to do pics so here they are

Hey GMRULZ I like very much what you did on the hose reroute, however, I noticed you don't have the original picture of your stock hoses. Did you have the special inline valves on your hoses that see to eliminate the gurling noises some of the members have experienced? I bought my 2SSRS M6 in February right after it showed up at the dealship so I assume it is a newer build. It does have the inline valves and I am wondering if anyone had done the reroute without these valves or if they have done it with the valves. It appears there are going to be some issues with doing the reroute and including the valves. Hope someone can respond to this as I want to do the reroute as well and as I live in Texas where we have Long Summers of high temps I also want to install the 160 thermostat.

It'd be awesome if someone would make a DIY write-up for this fix.

I do have an early build and did not have the valves. I do not recall ever hearing gurgling noises and I definetly don`t now. Wish I could help.

Check out this link... which is a heater relocation kick offered by ADM, that includes extensive directions too and is higher quality than the OEM solution. I have it on EVIL RS and the look is exceptional, especially when combined with the fuel rail flip and stainless steel braided fuel line.

ADM Performance is selling a Bad Ass Heater Hose Relocation Kit that looks OE. It is $289.00 from their website.. http://www.admperformance.com/produc...50&product=210

Andy with ADM Performance put them on my car when he did the MagnaCharger on it a week ago.. It tucks in very nicely..

Check out the Pictures !!!
