not trying to be a know it all a**wipe, but if you are on an incline, you NEVER
engage the clutch to hold the car stationary!..the correct method is to shift into neutral, engage the "hand brake" and keep your foot on the brake until light changes!..release the hand brake, then engage the clutch normally to move forward up the incline!

Mine has stunk up a few times. GM's new hill assist does not help much in not burning the clutch some.

The stock clutch in the SS's are terrible, the ZL1 is just a touch better than that. GM's twin is nice but it does NOT like to be abused for prolonged periods of times. I've got a few pictures of those units in multiple pieces from guys trying to abuse them.

If you're looking for an upgrade take a look at either our Monster single, twin, or triples. These are designed/manufactured/assembled right here in the USA and come with the industries best warranty.

Shoot me a pm, email, or give me a call if you have any questions.

If your not doing at least 75 mph, dont even go there. With this kind of hp, you will slip the clutch if you get in it at low rpm in 6th. Plus this loads you engine with extra fuel at low rpm and is hard on you motor. Dont drive with rpm lower than 1800-2000 rpm. if you notice your rpm dropping below this, grab a grear! The LS3 likes to growl a little anyhow. Just some advice from an old road ripper.
I was thinking the same thing, the gases must come up from the parking brake area. makes sense, and I like the idea of the vent, must really help things run cooler, ofcourse I'm sure it's all about making things cheaper in the long run.

This thread should be called bad drivers smell.
yep, same thing they make Truck brake pads out of, I always hold my breath when I smell that crap, it's deadly. thye must use it in car brake pads too, look at any box of pads, it always says "do not blow off dust with air or inhale brake dust".

Are there a lot of differences beween the v6 & V8 M6 trannies, ofcourse the ratios would be different but what about the shifter, the clutch and these types of things, does the V6 car have the vented clutch housing? I've got 5500 on my v6 M6, and not a hint of clutch burning, I pretty much baby the car, for $23,000 I dont expedct this car to be bulet proof.
