Occasional burning smell manual tranny

Just picked up my 2ss with manual tranny. Only have 150 miles so far. Occasionally, there is an awful burning smell. It happens when I still have foot on gas but have not fully let up on clutch. I am NOT grinding gears. Its kind of like riding the clutch a little, like when on a hill, or in traffic. Doesn't always happen, but when it does, it stinks. I already asked dealer to look at it when I brought it back for ground effects, and they said nothing dripping, but I'm not convinced they really looked at it. Will bring it in again, but anyone else have this problem?

You are burning the clutch...Just raise up the clutch a bit quicker than you are and place your foot to the side when you are driving..

I would bet you have stock # labels still wrapped around the exhaust pipes! Mine did and smelled for a couple hundred miles.

Does it smell like asparagus piss? You know... after you eat asparagus, and you take a leak, that terrible smell? Cuz that's what I kept smelling when my friend was driving his, and he determined it was his clutch...

Just curious if anyone knows what I'm talking about, lol...

Or it could be like mine did when i picked it up..

It could be the exhaust coming back inside the air vents and blowing it in the car..

Make sure the recirculation button is on..

Mine smelled like it when it was brand spanking new, not recently. Doubt it is because of riding the clutch. I've been driving a manual for 6 years straight. I just chalk it up to the break-in of the hydraulic clutch. If not, it just makes me feel better.

This post seriously has to be a joke. Seriously. If its not than you need to sell the car and get an automatic or learn to drive a manual properly before getting back into the Camaro.

Based on this description it is absolutely a case of riding the clutch.

I have that smell also occasionally. I know it is from the clutch. THis car has a very long clutch pedal travel and a short take up at the end. Takes a lot of gettingused to.

You're slipping the clutch -

It should either be 'engaged' or 'disengaged' - -you should not have the clutch pedal 'partially' engaged.
