If you say so.

I know your on about this coke-bottle thing...but I just don't see it at all. The roof was raised...what? an inch? And then the few other things that we all KNEW weren't going to make it to production don't count as far as I'm concerned; because none of that couldbe helped.

So, to you; there's some catastrophic difference. To me; it's a carbon copy.

But despite all this, I don't see the point of looking back at the concept vehicle any longer. We have the production car in front of us (so to speak). So if we don't like a feature -- I think a fresh idea to change it should be put forward, not "do it like the concept", or "the concept was better". That stage has been passed: there is nothing more from the concept car that can be put on the production version.......

Actually I was at a big car show today in Colorado and we were all talking about it. I know you keep saying you do not see the difference but we all were looking at the car in Motor Trend and everyone there saw the difference and it did not take anyone more than a quick look to see it. Maybe it is just because we are so into cars we are used to looking at the details.

You are right though time to quit hoping for the concept and realize what we are getting is already done and it is what it is. So again either you like it or you dont. There is no option here, its not like you could choose one or the other.

By the way the production car is no carbon copy, to me and most of my car buddies the differnces are quite obvious. We only wish it would have been a carbon copy as far as the body goes.

As for there is nothing more that can be put on the production from the concept..I can think of a few...
You yourself can easily replace the side mirrors and buy front and rear bumpers after market which can make it look more like the concept. As for looking back, that is not what this thread is about. I am very happy with the production vehicle and will get used to the changes once I see it in person. Since we will be seeing hundreds of these on the roads sometime next year, the concept will become a distant memory.

However at this point in time, this poll and remembering the concept as we all saw it there are still many of us on this forum which (from pictures only) still like the concepts looks better for different reasons. It would be very interesting to compare side by side in person. The Bumblebee concept which was a huge hit at auto-shows across the country should still make rounds after the Camaro production hits the shows. Unless GM decides to do the Bumblebee package with real Valspar Sunrise paint on painted stripes that mimic exactly the paint job of Bumblebee.. Then I can see the justification of replacing the original that was in the movie in the autoshows...However they could not officially say anymore that this was the one in the movie. However since it will look similar enough or at least should, (and it being a package deal that anyone can buy) should boost GM sales of the production bumblebee at that time and boost sales/interest of the production Camaro in general.

Comparing the two is only really something us super enthusiasts care to do and spend the time pondering and voting on.. After all these years of staring at pictures of the concept, it will not be easily forgotten by us.

Ah the memories of the "fine ass" concept. Damn regulations!!!...does anyone think there will be an aftermarket rear bumper that matches the concept? That lip on the back bumper is the only thing that bugs me about this car at this point! I try to get over it and I know why it's there but pretty soon I think it's gonna start keeping me up at night...oh wait, it's 1:37am here!!!!

I think a few companies will be trying to and successfully creating rear bumpers that match the concepts and fit on the existing production vehicle. How long till we see them available is another story...

My thing is I was in love with the concept and the production car falls short, so I will just wait, maybe the second version or the Z28 model will be different. All the things that attracted me to the concept have been changed on the production car and they are real changes not perceptions.
Yup. Same here. That production roof is so high ...

Let's hope if it exists one day, the Z28 being a little wider and being in "the spirit" of agressiveness of the concept.

I put all my hopes in the Z28. Hope I won't be disappointed.

I wouldn't have. I actually like the production rear better than the concept - more aggressive, less fat and puffy looking.

I won't say I can't see some of the differences. But they are SO subtle that most of them are hard to notice unless you have a pic of the Concept side by side with the Production model.

The only 3 that I consider 'obvious' are the blinker's moved inward, rear bumper and side mirrors.

Blinkers- I like it fine either way. Both look good.
Rear Bumper- I like the production rear more than the concept.
Side Mirrors- I never like the too tiny ones on the concept anyway.

The production model looks a tad thinner and a smidge taller, but it's certainly not enough of a difference to take away from the looks of the vehicle. It's hard to even see those differences anyway.

Besides to MOST of the buying public who haven't been staring at pics of this car for the last 2+ years and only saw it a few times in a magazine, it won't be an issue at all. Most will consider it a near carbon copy of the concept (with a MUCH nicer interior).
