I've got one.

About a week ago I pulled out of our little tract to go get some lunch. I was only going about half a mile to the nearest Subway. Anyway, as soon as I pull onto the 2 lane street, a guy next to me in a beat up old mini-van hits the gas and is clearly trying to show me who is boss.

Usually, I don't rise to this sort of challenge. One, it's not much of a challenge coming as it usually does from a guy in a pick up or an old sedan. Two, street racing is dangerous and I'm too old for it anyway. I just ignore these idiots and let them race ahead to the next light. That said, on this one occasion for whatever reason I couldn't let it go. The sight of the minivan with a mismatched body panel overcame reason. I slammed the pedal and went from 20-50 in about two seconds, passing the minivan in the process which was still straining at WOT.

At that point, I'd already reached my turn and slowed to go right. The other guy had given up and crept up to the next light. I laughed about it for probably 10 minutes straight. Some people are just ridiculous.

Mustang tried to race me, problem was he was going in the opposite direction.
Stopped along side my car then nailed it.

I know what your talking about John, funny story.
For me i have been very surpised. Ever since i have gotten my car, no one has really tried to race me, ive had a few times with ricers in civics or crxs but its funny when they're girlfriends are drooling over my car so i never have to do anything. But really, i dont have those annoying people trying to race me, which is very surprising because my brother, who has an 05 Stang which he got in 05, has people trying to race him left right and center from day one. Everyday he faces them. So, seeing as how my car has been in the garage, i drive his car ocassionally, let me tell you. The minute i get out of my block, theres people trying to race me. Its really weird but i have explained this to EVERYONE lol i just dont get it.
My brother has a v6 stang and i know the stats says he cant beat a G35, but he did. Mustve been because it was auto but we were all shocked . Anyways i love his stang and cant wait to have both out rolling together this spring

I've only had it happen twice, usually I just get jaw dropping looks.
first was a Ford Dually pickup
second was a Z06 Corvette
wasn't much, just reving their engines next to me.

You can tell by my incomplete list of Hotrods/race cars that I've been around. If someone I don't know pulls up next to me that I don't know, I tell them no, if they keep trying, I hit the button, open up the cutouts, let them hear the cam, purge a good bit of nitrous & tell them to meet me at the track that's 10 minutes from the house. Usually once they hear the lumpy cam & know I'm on the kit they cool down.

I have 5 tracks within a 2 hour radius of the house & I run at all of them, so anyone that really races has seen my junk run.

I also own my own business & carry corporate insurance on 2 vehicles, if at the least I get busted racing my insurance will go through the roof. Worse case scenario, is someone pulls out in front of me, or someone wrecks trying to race me & I'm responsible for their death. I'm too old for that stuff these days. I cut my teeth street racing, but it's a different game these days. Used to be that we all went out to a spot out of town that we would have prepped & everything, now a days, stupid people will race in traffic on busy streets. The game ain't the same as it used to be, so it's not for me anymore.
I hope you have sense of humor.

I don't need to street race to get tickets its seems....although I have been ticketed for that before as well, I dont do well with cops for some reason, I am going to get someone to drive my car for me and I will just ride everywhere in the passengers seat lol

I really don't get challenged. There was a guy in a Viper who gave me the thumbs down before. Mostly people just want me to do a burnout. I would assume that more LT's get messed with more by the Mustang GT guys, just so they can say they beat a Camaro.

You can still have some fun with these beasts with out street racing. Having a car like this is an added responsibility, like a fire arm or something so be careful. Idiots will take your and everyone elses on the roads lives in their hands and it ticks me off. But everyone loves the rivals esp the ponys, nothing wrong with spouting off a little. While hes' over there acting a fool, his girl is watching me and my machine!! Gotta love these cars.

I was a country road with my wife this morning and some ****** in a RX8 was tailgating and honking the horn. I just let this dude and his ****** friends in the Subaru station wagon and s2k go by when it was safe. If they want to race and drive off the road into Encinal Canyon, that's fine with me. And the ricers wonder why cops pull them over all the time.

Other than today's stupidity, nobody messes with me.
