I the same issue with my squad car. I had to close the mirrors every night for if I didn't, the robin would be trying to mate with itself. That's what it's all about. They seem themselves in the mirror. Be recommendation since our mirrors don't retract or band closed is to take a pair of old socks and just place them over it them. They only do this this time of the year. Everyone trying to get their freak on. In the mean time, you can find time to mod your C5 to do this:

you can put one of these on each door sill.. That should take care of the little pecker. Just don't hang your arm out the window.

From what I heard ppl doing and "they" say a rubber snake scares birds off. I know my parents put a cpl in the carport and it seems to work

I had this same problem a few years ago. I got a rubber snake from Johnnys toys and laid it on the hood, problem solved.

By the looks of the robin is a fledgling that has recently become capable of flight so by the reflection of the side mirror or passenger window makes him feel more secure. It’s a temporary thing, but eventually it will go away. More likely it’s best to put a cover.

if you ask me you should take it as a compliment that he keeps coming back. Anyways i'd say cover the mirrors or cover the whole car don't hurt the bird.
