LMAO....obviously not.

You missed my point.

But yes....GT500 is sweet.

I disagree. I think all this talk on this forum is the utmost respect for the Camaro even though many may not want to admit it. Non Camaro people who come on this board see the passion we have towards our AWESOME Camaro. Many are here just to debate, which is cool, but many see that passion we have and like to take shots at it. Why? It's because the Camaro is bad ass and our passion for the car is even badder. . Let the ones talking smack, talk their smack. If the Camaro wasn't so bad ass why would they waste their time. I know my car is fast and bad as hell. Ain't no one gonna tell me different.

I realize that, the 5.4 litre in the GT500 has forged internals and a blower. I'm sure Ford isn't dropping those gems in just anything that rolls down the assembly line. The Ford Lightning had the 5.4 with an Eaton and you paid double what you would for a regular F-150. My point is, you can either have the manufacturer do the engine work for you and pay a lot extra or you can take a good solid platform, like the LS3, and build it up yourself. It really isn't anywhere near comparing apples to oranges, just different routes being taken to achieve one common goal.

I searched for 2011GT500 dynos and found 470-480rwhp as the norm. I have seen ls3's dyno 520-530 before so I guess I can believe his dyno as being accurate. HIs cam is large enough for it.

I guess it is hard to swallow that someone could buy a 5th gen for ~30k, keep it NA and spend ~6k on h/c/bolt ons, likely beating the fastest car in fords lineup with a supercharger and a ~50k price tag?
And voiding the warranty which that Ford still has, still handling worse, and still not being built nose to tail to handle it's power (as the Gt500 is). it's all relative. There will be no fair comison unless the Z28 is built and that is still in the big if department.

The internals were forged, not coated and Ford used an iron block rather than the aluminum block that was going into the GT's. The compression ratio was very mega-boost friendly as well at 8.5:1.
i was going to say only the crank was forged, but it seems your right about that. its been a long while since i read anything about it and i thought i remembered forged crank the rest coated but my mistake.

Like I said....no matter how you compare them it isnt going to be fair.
Um, it's not a 30k car when you add in all the engine work, and more like a 33k car vs a 46k car And the race in the race in the origional post was a 33k car vs 33k car with a boatload and x amt of $$$$ in work.

We had a 'dyno day' recently and some guy brought in an s197 that dyno'd at over 600rwhp.

And I'm not taking a shot at any way about Boostedyard's car.
