Isn't wagoneer the moron that heads up the industry in China? Who was the CEO that was going to be fired until they moved him out of the country?

Wagoner is CEO of GM North America...it was his idea to get GM into China among other things...which is a big deal, actually...Overall...I think I like what he's done with the company.

Except for this last move....stupid, imo. Please the a$$holes up on the bench no matter what. They do hold your company's life in their hands...

most likely because alot of people in polotics dont have any money themselves invested in the 3 like they do in other places.

keep in mind this little tidbit of information. there are more people in government under indictment or under investigation currently THEN EVER IN OUR COUNTRIES HISTORY!

one hand seems to wash the other in washington. too bad both hands have scabies.

Wow. How hard would it be to say "Yes, I'll take $1 a year" if it would save their companies.

Words cannot express how pissed off this makes me.

Throw the bastards out NOW!

They're ALL MULTI-MILLIONAIRES!

I DEMAND Wagonner resign now. If he stays, it WILL affect my car buying decisions.

Bob Nardelli ran Home Depot right into the ground...At least he's willing to do the right thing here.

They are greedy SOB's that deserve all to get voted out/fired/replaced since they know what the alternative is for their companies.. They would rather cut salaries, cut out bonuses and see their companies go bankrupt with thousands losing their jobs before doing what would be good for the company.

I can't believe this. They can say "yes" to a dollar a year when they're worth millions; especially when the alternative is to go bankrupt.

My friend - It's a symbolic gesture easily made by multi-millionares.

The American taxpayer wants to see a sign of sincerity and commitment from these huge companies represented by their CEO's.

The buck stops with them, or does it stop with the American car buyer now?

I need my Chevy's, just fire the:

I get that -- I've said earlier it was stupid of them to say no....VERY stupid. But to think such a move can actually help the company when it comes down to it just isn't realistic, imo.

I'll be reasonable, I admit I don't know the two CEO's who said no to accepting the $1 a year salary in exchange for the bailout money however the Chrysler CEO does get brownie points for accepting the offer.. Perhaps because Chrysler is in worse shape than GM and Ford or he truly does care more for his company than both GM's and Ford's CEO's do. However they all will continue to fly around in their Gulfstreams using company money at $10,000 or more per flight...
