Well gents . . . It was a tough day. I pulled into the water box, spun them over and rolled forward to set the line lock for my burnout, then the line-lock switch broke off at the base. I had to back out to verify the front brakes weren't stuck. After that I came around for another pass and tried going without a burnout. I got bad tire shake off the line and had to back out of it, got a 1.89 sec 60' and ran 11.5 with a trap speed of 133 mph. I could tell the car wasn't pulling right. On my second attempt I figured out why . . . the supercharger belt was sheared and when I tried to spin them over to get the rocks out I thought I heard something slapping under the hood. I backed out again and saw where the paint was chipped off of one small spot on the hood. The supercharger belt was still somewhat on but shredded like a Philly Cheese Steak.

It was a huge disappointment, but not the end of the world and can be easily fixed. This makes the third time I have tried to test the F-1X. First time was a rainout, second time a hurricane came in, and this was the third attempt.

I intend to possibly try again fairly soon (something in the works) but I am NOT going to announce it this time. If I survive, then I will post up something here after it is over. I am certain that the belt was already compromised during my first run, so the bad tire shake coupled with a slipping supercharger belt was the reason for the 11.5 sec bomb. All of this puts a lot of doubt in my mind about the car really being able to crack the 9's but I intend to try again in a much more low key atmosphere fairly soon.

I appreciate the support all of you have given me throughout this thread!

Man sorry to here that. That's been my story the last two times to the track with my blower belt issues. Although it was a Maggie, there's plenty of guys with your set up that do just fine. But honestly I'm not going to miss belts lol

Things happen. With only three track days you are going to have kinks to iron out. Probably for a long time. The car is fast, don`t doubt it. Just takes time to make them work.

The belt damage turned out to be a bit worse than I originally thought because it knocked some of the coating off the carbon fiber.

I took it to my local dealership (Demontrond Chevrolet) yesterday for repair. They are already on it and here are a few pics of the progress. Looks like they are doing a great job!

LOL, I haven't made 24 passes since I have owned the car (5 yrs), but I hear ya . . . It takes time to get use to a new set-up. I am not going to be in a rush. I want to wait for a track rental where it is much more low key and I can take my time for the burnout, staging, etc.

When you are driving a stick there are many more things to think about prior to launch.

A 2 step will help eliminate some of those things you have to think about and also at the same time improve your consistency, they are pretty reasonable in price as well, also do you have a line lock to help you out in the burnout box?

Yes sir I have a line lock . . . the switch broke off at the base when I attempted to do my first burnout . . . everything went downhill from there.

I will give the two step some consideration. Out of curiosity, what is different between the two step and the launch control function that comes on the Camaro? I have never used the launch function but thought when/if you use it the rpms will be held at 5000 until you lift the clutch with the pedal floored?

To be honest I was going use the cars launch control but several people said even with me programming more into the tune it would still suck, maybe the stock one uses a fuel cut off im not to sure, i know my n2mb is a basic one, but gives me wot shifts and easy control over a few basic setting, it cuts spark only and i have to do the retarding of timing in the tune, but there are lnc 2 steps that cut timing and a few other setting but to be honest I dont know much yet about them im learning to tune it right now through experiment
