I'm going to have to tinker with it some more to figure it out...but my fear now is the delicate lead wires on those LEDs...they break very easily.
The way i have the light pipe is on top with the trim off the dash some 2-3mm that lets the light to come thru.

I used the sanding method as I ultimately wanted the trim to snap completely back into place. It might be as simple as the light tube slipping down on me when I snap it in. It lights up fine for the first 3 or so inches from each end, but beyond that its dark, nothing like the photos everyone has posted. Again, I have to spend some more time looking at it...but it won't be till next weekend at the earliest.

Not in my opinion, no. You will have to dremel the driver side (with the WS method)....but, not on the passenger side.

Ok... tried doing the drivers side tonight. Not as easy as the passenger side. The light pipe makes the trim gap way too big. I can see I'll have to get the dremel out. Did you cut both clips, or just one? anyone have any pictures of their drivers side trim with the clips cut?

I'm wondering if the light pipe would fit behind the drivers side trim better if I did the drill method on that side?

TAG... are you happy with your drivers side?

You will need to dremel only one of the trim parts on that side.

I still need to tinker with mine. Believe me when I say you can make it work. ...we did it in Mikes (2010ABM)'s car. We did not use the drill method in Mikes like we did in my car (since we did my car a long, long time ago before we found out we didn't need to drill).

Take the insert off, put together all the light pipe, etc and fit it behind the insert (with WS). I put the insert back on but kind of pulled it back. I then used a mini screwdriver pushing around teh light pipe behind the insert to get it where I wanted it. It sits a little lower in the back than the passenger side. Hope that helps.

Only if we can have the doors do the same thing in sync too.

DUUUUUUDE.....now THAT is cool!!! Yep. I know you can do the doors as well. it'll just be finding all the hookups and rerouting them through the main control box.

This seems like a hell of a lot of work to get the wires through the door though. I remember when I started the ABL i was going to run everything to the 4pack gauges. Then When I finally got in there to see how the door jam was, I quickly changed my mind. Its near impossible to get a wire from the door, into the cabin.

Damm Ofer, I should have seen this post before I saw the one on the DT Shortie Header Sale. Now I want to do another Mod, plus if I do this it will the doors and dash will be able to do the same thing as my Footwells and Cupholders, except with more colors. We need to talk again.
