I use the blood of baby seals to keep my diff like new. Best way to do it is to go "clubbing".

Doesnt bother me, me and the wife aren't from Oklahoma, got stationed here a long time ago.

Don't know if ETMX has seen this post yet, but he was at the track with nitrous and someone's tune. Car hooked with too much power and destroyed the differential. I don't do a huge burnout so I can still get the tires to spin, saves me from wheel hopping.

Yeah I figured... He likes to explode things.

So what mods do you recommend to beef up the stock SS diff?

Probably the Eaton TrueTrac. I'm just using a JRE Posi Mod so I will probably destroy mine at the track one day.

You could also do the redneck thing and just weld everything together.

Are you planning on running slicks or drag radials? Drag Radials are easier on the car.

Definitely drag radials, I want something that I can run around town on and that would hook up well on the street. I'm looking at the same tire you're running, NT05R in a 305/45/18. How do yours do on the street without getting them hot with burnouts? Still get really good traction?

What I would like to do is buy 2 TSW Nurburgrings for the rear in 18x9.5 to match my fronts. Like this:

I have The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 305s. They are really good in summer weather but terrible when colder than 50.

They are decent on the street when I'm not in 1st gear. Don't know how they react in 2nd gear now though since I've gotten my tune better. Unfortunately our power levels are probably too much for the street unless its prepped.

How much better are they on the street than your summer 20" tires? As far as straight line traction goes.

I was always amazed at how well I did on the street with these gmax all seasons. But I know this converter is going to change all that.

They are better, but they aren't cheap enough to be driving around all the time on. They are $330 a piece and have a 00 treadwear.

Track has a lot of prep to it, plus your throttle was kind of opening slowly, that helps out a lot since it doesn't shock the tires.

Well my cost is 250 on them but still I would only run them on the street when I feel like it. That's why it would be nice to have the matching rims. 18" DR's and 20" all seasons.

And yes my lazy throttle was great for traction. I just hope with this new setup we can get the car to 60ft well without the small nitrous shot.

Not to change the subject, but that sucks about ricks diff. I put a low mile 3.27 SS rear end in my g8 a few months back and it's been nothing but a piece of shit for me. Luckily I have a spare ss carrier from v6 experiments, I've been thinking of doing the jre posi mod and slamming it in there.
