I finally got around to doing the 1/4" weatherstrip method....works like a charm.

I'm playing around now with the drivers side and weatherstrip...keep ya posted!

Everything is already installed in the car, it is just fine tuning everything

I have the passenger side abl installed but it is dim in the center of the light tube itself and I have the dash panel set off the dash a little so the light should shine out but it doesn't seem to make it from both ends all the way to the middle. I am using the gm LEds. Any thoughts?

Try to turn it some to get more light in the pipe.

I already have the white reflector line facing towards the engine and slightly down. I figured that would be the most efficient way of getting the light out through the light tube. Also 2SSRS, what exactly are those hollow clear tubes for that you sent with the weather stripping in the kit?

I use them to hold the pipe to the LED.

I couldnt get the tube on far enough to slide the led on then slide the tube over the led and the pipe. I guess I will have to work on it tonight after work so I can see what the light looks like.

if the light is too thin on the passenger side middle, move the weather stripping up a tiny bit. watch the light pipe to make sure it doesn't fall below it.

Its like there isnt enough light making it to the center of the light pipe itself

Are you using a light on either side?

Maybe the light at the middle is not up high enough?

Yes I have a light on both sides ro the passenger light tube. I was thinking today that I will get the solid weatherstripping that I saw in that one video on here and see if that helps keep the light more focused outward and in the tube. Right now I only have those little black weather strip cubes that 2SSRS sent with the connector. I need to pick up one more light from GM for the driverside.

Been a while since I've been back here,

I have the same issue in the center. I bought more weather stripping (solid) as well... I was having an issue with it adhering, used extra 3m double side to hold it on. I also made "shims" to hold the passenger trim open in the center, kept pulling in and pushing the light bar down. That seemed to help a bunch. In the evening dusk, it looks very uneven, but in full dark at night, its pretty even across. If you look closely, doors are the same way from the factory, bright near the led (toward the back seat) and almost invisible until dark, as it gets closer to the dash.

Question- has anyone used a dremel to either :

1- trim the back and/or front of the light tube to thin it out, particularly on the driver side

Or

2- cut a "groove" into the dash behind the trim piece to recess the light tube into?

That driver side gap is really killing me! Wasn't sure if trimming down the light tube would effect the way it illuminates, or if there's any probs cutting a channel in the dash...

Thanks!

hey drago, there was a member here who did it differently. Cut holes in the dash for the led holder to fit through and mount the lightpipe. It worked great, the trim sat back flush with the dash. Only thing I would do differently is sand the trim and then it would look just like the doors

Thanks, but I think that applied more to the pass side than the drivers. The drivers side has a rediculous gap in it...I did sand the paint off, but without cutting there's no way to get it to sit flush...
