I found the connector housings pre-pinned, so I don't have to ghetto-crimp/solder all the pins onto the wires before I put them in the housings. Just a way to make it much more robust.

HAH, well when it gets below 20...brutal...
This I actually thought about. I could probably shave off about 50 or so pounds with racing seats. And I saw those corny little portable heated pad things that can be placed over the seat and back...they look pretty decent. But I don't know if I wanna start mangling the interior. Any good brand for racing seats?! Quote:

anyone have experience with 'vibrant oxygen sensor defouler'
can be seen here: http://www.modernperformance.com/pro...aliber_exhaust i installed LTH with HF cats, and the CEL came on as expected. looking to turn the light off, without a tune. yes i know that is the correct way to do it, and gives more hp etc etc. but i am trying not to void my warranty fully-no-questions-asked with a tune, when doing defoulers should in theory only void the warranty on the parts i changed, since i am not changing ECM, PCM, and other computer modules like a tune. ive done the spark plug defouler method where you get a spark plug spacer and drill it out on older GMs and an Escalade, but dont know if it'll fly on these.

Don't get to hung up on trying to figure out what they can and can't void your warranty on. Fact is, you won't know until it happens.
I don't like the looks of that spacer. You want something that you can easily adjust and lots of patience. There is a an exhaust mixture that you need to find that the ecm expects to see. You don't know exactly how much to dilute the sensor. You have to be able to adjust it till you get it right. That spacer looks waaaaaay too long.

Autozone sells an O2 spacer that you can stack. You might give that a try. Anything aluminum will probably back out and rattle.
Your other option is to buy an elm327 Bluetooth obdii module and use torque pro to monitor for problems other than rear o2 codes. Drive it untuned with a CEL. It won't blow up.

Okay I said eff waiting and got a floor jack from another friend. Now I just need to pick up the rest of the tools today. The DIY thread says that these are the required tools:
11mm, 13mm, 15mm and 9/16" deep sockets with ratchet 9/16" open-end wrench 7/8" open-end wrench or 7/8" O2 sensor socket Small torque wrench (18 ft-lbs range) large zip-ties or bailing wire, small zip-ties Anti-seize thread compound Sawzall reciprocating saw Auto lift, or approx 2 foot tall jackstands or ramps Anything else I should get or not get? I'm not sure why I would need a saw if it's supposed to be a direct fit. |
