Hey guys, I'm doing heads, cam, and intake on my ls3 but I want that extra punch when I hit the throttle. Would I be better off replacing my Vararam with a K&N? And what is this Long Throw Shifter ya'll are talking about? Sounds way cooler then my MGW.

What's up V8 peeps. So I'm preparing to purchase a SS. I want to get a manual and i'm going for least cost so probably a 2010 or 2011. What do I need to look out for? I remember the first years had some issues.

If you're wanting to rebuild your motor someday you should try and find one with chirping lifters. There were some rear main seal issues. Oil pump issues. Output shaft issues. Throwout bearing issues. What else am I missing?
You don't really want to know the answer to that question. Just buy one and drive it like you stole it. You biggest problem is most likely going to be the defective rear tires (all brands). I have yet to get a pair that lasts very long.

If you want to keep the warranty, I would look for a certified pre-owned car. My 2012 was 30k with 12k miles and a CPO warranty.
