That's why I'm agreeing with you there I just don't see it getting much, if any, lighter than what SS is. Also, it'd be nice for GM to put it out, horsepower-wise, for a couple years ahead of the GT500. However, all that power isn't any good unless you can apply it, so that's a two-way street. I just want it better than the GT500 for a couple years. With FI (assuming it's going to be FI), it's going to be so easy to add a little more power than the other guy. I believe Z28's chassis is going to be completely capable of coping with and putting the power down.

I will say mags will get a 12.3 and actual drivers mid-high 11's.
I hope they stick some PS2s on the car, like CTS-V and ZR1. I don't know about about those Goodyears; it seemed they left some to be desired compared to other OEM tires out there

If it comes with the LSA under the hood it won't be.

Why not? If you're talking about power, who's to say it won't get a bump in power? It appears Camaro's chassis lends itself to less restrictive intake and exhaust systems (as pointed out by others ), since LLT makes more power in Camaro than CTS. Also, I believe intake and exhaust levels will be more relaxed in Camaro than CTS just because it's not aimed at the luxury segment - less sound restriction can usually mean less air restriction, so more power. Also, it's about time for ZR1 and CTS-V to get a little bump in power, so since I believe Z28 will be for '12 model year, I believe we'll see some increases in power across the range of the 6.2 FI'd cars.

I don't have proof, but it just makes sense to me

I'm not sure if they'd give them a bump or not. Afterall, the gen IV series of engines is coming to an end in the near future so I don't know if they'd give a few more ponies if its only going to be for a year or two. They might but I'll be surprised if it does happen.

Gm's gonna have to come with more than 556hp to beat the 2011 GT500. The GT500 has 550HP, weighs 3800lbs, and has 3:55 rearend gears.
Unless the Z/28 goes on a diet...with the blower it'll probably weigh close to 4000lbs.
I just don't see GM testing the mule(Z/28) against the 2011 GT500, unless they plan to beat it. Not just in straight line performance, but handling as well.

I swear I saw a statement from Mr. Tadge Juechter saying ZR1 is not the end... Anyways - I agree that Gen IV is on the way out, so :(

Less than 20% of the GT500s so far are non-performance pack cars.

3780 lbs - Forged Wheels - 3.73 gears - Full Forged Engine - No Gas Guzzler

Nav and Sync Sytem is arguably the best of any manufacture.

The only thing I like better about the Z28 is the brake kit.

Now if the Z28 gets the LS9 then it might perk my interest.

It can't have both a manual and an auto in one car.
