In all fairness... there are some Camaro owners out there that shouldn't be on this site either...

I don't frequent many other forums anymore, but usually when I get interested in something I join a related forum to learn about it. I used to be very active on v8s10.org but I moved on to here. Especially with how popular internet forums have become, they're are a priceless information source.

much agreed!

I really don't understand the reason behind this thread. I have owned a lot of cars from Chevrolet, Pontiac, Toyota (still Have), Buick, Nissian, Mini and Ford. Just because my avatar states I own a 2011 Mustang at the moment I can't participate here? Why is it when some people buy a car they get tunnel vision and bash others that don't own the same thing? I think the guy that started this thread is the one that is insecure about his purchase and needs help from all the Camaro owners to help him get past it. Maybe you guys could all send him a PM that let him know it will be OK.

I come to this forum because I love cars. I also frequent a Challenger and a Mustang forum. What better way is there to research and learn about something you're interested in?
Life's too short to miss out on something because of blind brand loyalty. Plus, you guys seem to talk more about Mustangs here than we do on the Mustang forum.
Camaro guys are always welcome on Mustang forums.

These kind of statements do a disservice to all the other friendly Camaro owners that can see past their own little world.

Hate to see bashing on any internet Forum. Bashing I view as adolescent and lacking in the ability to respect others. Sad but most internet bashing only indicates the person bashing is not fully informed before they post. Since I joined Camaro5 last May, I have been disappointed with some uniformed mostly negative comments posted on Camaro5 by a few people regardless of the subject/topic. Some people post just to post regardless if they have expertise regarding the forum topic question.
Mustang’s, Challenger's, Camano’s, we all like a uniquely styled 2-door coupe.
In my parking garage we have Mustang's, Challenger's, and Camano’s (plus some $100,000 plus BMW’s, Jag’s, Mercede’s, etc.) We greet each other and share info on car wax and maintenance.
Do not see why we all can not get along on Camaro5 and appreciate input from others that do not have a Camaro.
At times reading Camaro5 it appears some young bloods simply want to piss on others in an attempt to be superior and mark their spot.
Young bloods expand your horizons and take time to listen to others before you are so fast to post negative comments on the Net. I like my 2011 Camaro, but I show respect to others who have purchased other cars.

You know it's funny I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I see more new posts on Camaro5 about the Mustang then the other 2 Mustang forums I go to. In some respects I learn more here about my car then some Ford forums.

Well, I owned a Camaro SS and now I own a Mustang 5.0. I've been a member here for quite some time and was in love with the Camaro's body styling which is why I bought it. However after a years worth of driving it I discovered I liked a cockpit with better visibility all around as my number one reason for the trade in and went with it.

I want to assume that you are all over the mustang forums, yet you still have time to get in a quick response on Camaro5 to any post that has 'Mustang' in it.

You're doing searches for 'Mustang' every 30 minutes, aren't you? C'mon, admit it.

It's all cool. The more the merrier.

I am definitely more inclined to talk in threads where the mustang is being talked about.

to be honest, this is something we aren't really proud of. it gets annoying to see the mustang owners who relentlessly post new threads about whatever the latest mustang news is.

But we also see it as a sign of respect that they feel the need to remind us they are relevant in the muscle car market.

Again, when the conversation is generated by mustang owners, it is annoying and immediately seen as trolling.

is it fair? probably not. but it's true. It's impossible to decipher intentions on the interwebz... so first impressions Carry a lot of weight...

FWIW

For reference this is trolling. The moment you become disrespectful and insulting you have broken the rules. Instigating a fight, which the OP is arguably doing, will get you infractions and if it continues, banned.

Sorry to do this 2010, but this is another form of trolling. we expect all our members to be respectful at all times.

if you don't like what a person is saying on our boards, feel free to report the post. and don't hesitate to continue to report a persons posts if they continue to annoy you. I can't promise that we will agree with you but we don't see everything. the report post button is a huge help to us.

And this is why we tend to come down on mustang owners. The appearance is that they are only here to inform us and defend the mustang, Gets way old.

Here is something I posted earlier today. Maybe it will help.

We expect every member here to have some affinity for the Camaro and what it does well.

Consider this. A Mustang fanboy is a troll. Plain and simple.

Camaro guys. Don't let this stuff get to you. It's one guy. Sure it certainly looks like a slap in the face when a Mustang owner throws a less than glowing review of our camaro in our faces... Don't take the bait.

keep in mind, A camaro Fanboy can also be a troll... But we tend to be more forgiving of them unless they become disrespectful, insulting, or obnoxious.
FWIW, I don't mind the mustang guys. I tend to get annoyed when people, traditionally mustang owners, "expect" their car to receive equal treatment.

This is not a muscle car forum. It is a camaro forum. As such we are biased and to some degree reserve the right to be so. Does that mean this is a condition of being a member here? NO. But it does mean that you have some respect for the camaro, if nothing else as a competitor.
