for questions about the car being roped off, TAG explained it best on the other thread for this show

What you see on stage is NOT a finished product. Some have been painted a few times, have parts put in that are not finished, some stuff does not work like it should, the finish on the doors are sprayed on, etc. (ie: looks good, but really isn't cause it's not a finished product).

SO...

When you get in the floor model at the auto show and a knob falls off or the lights don't all come on, YOU say "no big deal...it's only a pre-production - slapped together - run around the country so as many people as possible can see it show car."

HOWEVER...

The person that does NOT know better gets in, something breaks or does not work (or the finish comes off the door) and they say, "Oh my...I can't believe this part broke in this new car. OH MY...I can't believe this light does not work! OH MY GOODNESS!!!...I can't believe the finish came off this door!!!...Well, I'll be! If this car is going to fall apart...and this is what they want everyone to see, I'll NEVER buy a Camaro! What POOR quality!"

Now...do you understand why they don't let people sit in them?

Scott has already told us that after the new year, PRODUCTION ready models WILL be at auto shows for us to see, touch, and sit in. There will be plenty of time for us to check them out and sit in them before buying.
this should probably be merged with

Those are not midnight silver wheels. I wonder why they keep taking RS camaros to the shows with the incorrect wheels....

Read post 34. That is the best info we have so far.

Love having it on the right - don't have to worry about dinging your car door on the concrete posts next to the pumps when getting out of your car

Actually, that's how I got her to open the trunk... it didn't look like it lined up right and she walked over and pulled it open... it looked good when she closed it again.

Who thinks this car is beginning to need some TLC, I mean the dash needs a shine, and some of the plastic pieces are starting to look old. Needs some love.

First off, all of you who've had the opportunity to see pre-production Camaros are so damn lucky....there are folks (like me) who have ordered this 'sight-unseen'. Yes we've seen pictures but there is nothing like in-person.

My hats off to those of you who've been lucky enough to see the new Camaro in person and have so graciously uploaded the photos.

I can't wait till the St. Louis autoshow...I sure hope that GM parks one of those Camaros here otherwise

All Cobalt's fillers are on the right and I'm pretty sure every other Chevy car's is too.

Great pictures also guys. I think the quality of the paint looks pretty good. Can't wait to (hopefully) sit in one at COBO in Detroit.
