But I love the idea of 250. So simply ask for the 2.0 LNF. Now you're talking.
So what kind of power can be made safely on the new 1.4L??

Eh, I can dream. Don't you dream of a turbo n' tune LS3 making a kajillion HP?

But seriously, they should either revive or revive the spirit of the LNF using the newer technologies being employed in the smaller 4cyl Turbos. Possibly bring some real true brawn for the Z-spec.. thus bringing back the great points of the gone (but not forgotten) Cobalt SS/TC.

Also.. to touch on Fen's Verano thing. When the heck are we going to get a Turbo 6 Regal again?

Lol, people are talking about the Verano 2.0T and we haven't even gotten the widely hyped/anticipated Regal GS. It's already not awd, let's hope there isn't any more disappointing news coming.

No, there's some news coming regarding the Regal GS and the Regal Turbo. And it definitely isn't disappointing...

As for a Regal with a six-cylinder? Not happening with this generation as far as I know. I believe the 2012 Malibu is dropping the V6 for a turbo-4 as well.

Actually, now it's called the Punto Evo....seriously. Yes, the name is terrible, but the car itself is very good.

There is truly nothing new under the sun. 'Young buyers' in general have always had a bit more of a slant toward the Circus-Circus side of styling. To lump them all in together is of course unfair. For example when I was 18 my favorite new car, in terms of styling, was the rather reserved Thunderbird SC and my personal car was an early 70's Mach-1. (the latter of which is admittedly a bit more flamboyant than the T-Bird to say the least....but hardly Circus-Circus)

I like an aggressive-looking car so long as it is well done. For example, I rather like both the GT500 and the C6 Vette, either of which looks like they would happily eat the Sonic's young. The front of the Aveo is not well done IMO, or particularly aggressive for that matter.

So are they just looking at large displacement I4s? With the added weight coming from safety mandates You'd think they'd at least consider Turbo 6 cylinder setups to provide more usable power. God knows the V8 isn't much of a viable option even if you went with a small sub 5L turbo V8.

A new 2.5L I-4 is supposedly in the works, along with a 3.0L Twin-Turbocharged V6. Fairly sure they're working on a new turbo-4 as well. We just don't know when the new engines will go into production.

Makes perfect sense to me. When I see it, I have the overwhelming urge to see how far I can punt it, or in other words make a big punt ... thats what Grande Punto means, isn't it? Big punt?

Technically it translates into 'great point', although something is lost in translation. Initially the first model was just the Punto, and much like the Dodge Caravan the Grande was added to the front of the name to signify change, in this case to point out that the new model was a newer, improved version. The model that replaced that is called the Punto Evo, and I'm sure the next model will grab a new suffix or prefix.

Worth noting, the GP is easily one of the two best B segment cars in the world and may in fact be the best B segment car in the world. GM would have absolutely killed to have had this in their portfolio rather than the Aveo, those two cars being on opposite ends of the B segement stratosphere.

Is the Sonic as good? Could be, but that is a tall order particularly when you take into consideration that Fiat is arguably the best small automotive engine builder in the world right now.

Just a thought.

Good to know. It's also good for chrysler. They can finally drop a daisy cutter on the Caliber and have something half decent at rental lots for a change.

Kinda odd that it took Daewoo and Fiat to give GM and Chrysler some B segment contenders. Granted the former was developed by Daewoo/GM to be a global platform like the Greek chassis series from the get go.

Global engineering.. now everything's bitchin.
