I like the directions. I travel a lot and it's nice to have that feature. The most important features for me though...I have locked myself out of my truck a couple times, once in a way out area, call on-star! The other thing is if the car is stolen, they can track it and slow it down and stop it! If you don't have an account when it's stolen, takes a while to get them to re-activate to find the car and alert the police.

Worth it to me!

My On-Star is about to expire. They've been hounding me worse than a bill collector. Everyday damn near. Not gonna renew it. I use iPhone map app. Drive in SoCal, so if I wreck, someone's bound to see it and call emergency services. Voice navigation would actually get on my nerves, vice on screen. Never locked my keys in car before. What do they offer that's worth $12/month?

No.

Last year Onstar sent out plans to keep your system online just for this purpose so you can still use the emergency crash response. A ton of uninformed consumers cried foul about it without understanding Onstar true intent so Onstar pulled the plans. So instead of it being free, you have to pay for it.

Um, what? There's more to that story...I think it was because people actually DID understand what they were up to and didn't want it.

She says hold she will check. Comes back with no they can't have, that there is no offer even close to that. I insist. She says it may have to do with some insurance companies, but she can't match it. I say again, cancel. She says "ok". I counter with I only want what others have. She says it's not there, and she will give me any deal currently offered. I ask what her best one is. The safety plan for $149, and the directions free for 6 months. I ask what about after 6 months? $100 for next 6. I offer $50. Was told to wait till it gets closer to the end of 6 months. Offers 100 free minutes to sweeten the deal. I take it, monthly bill, no credit card on file. I got hosed, but think its the best I was going to do. I'd love to know what the $189 plan is called or how to get it.

Ok, posted once before but ask for State Farm plan. 6 months free once you are on an expired system.

My android nav (google) is much better than any car based system. always up to date.
