yup, broke something in the transmission. im hoping its only the clutch (which i was planning on replacing when the engine went in.) Blu808's gone in Atlanta till Monday so i'll have to wait a couple days, but my car was going in for more work on Tuesday anyways.....

@Steve, i didnt even think about rolling into it the second time and my car stopped right off the line and i knew something bad happened! I took a look under the back of the car at the axels but they looked alright. Anything that is a dead giveaway that something happened to the axel?

My first (and only) run was a 13.060 and i dont have the timeslip so i dont have the R/T or 60' time.

i think ill stick with AutoX for now.....

Don't just drop the clutch, as this will just make you either light up the tires or bog down, depending on how high the rpms are when you drop the clutch. I was able to get 1.9 60' times doing this. But once you have spun the tires a bunch and heated them up, then it will only get worse after that. That's why it is important to not spin the tires.
I hope this helps, good luck!
Wow... thanks! That is actually really helpful. I knew not to go into the water box with street tires but I wasn't aware that PZeros liked to be COLD. I will be running bone stock next week including the factory PZeros so I will definitely put your advice to good use

I wish the drag slicks I had for my Grand Prix would fit on the Camaro! :(

Josh, that really sucks. I hope it is just the clutch as well. Were you running a stock clutch? If so, I'm surprised it has held up this long with the amount of power you are putting to the ground.

Also, in my experience, AutoX is much harder on a car than drag racing is and you have to upgrade a completely different set of parts to do AutoX effectively/safely than you do for drag racing (generally speaking). I would suggest looking into it very carefully if you plan to do it.

ya, im surprised its held up this long, although its been slipping ans sticking here and there the past couple weeks...im upgrading my axels pretty soon too, but dont plan on pushing my car hard before they get swapped. ive been doing a lot more suspension work on my car for autoX and havent even touched the driveline......until now!

I got in two runs, and it got late, and we had to head home. The slip above was my best of the two. I'm car 128 on the left. It was fun, kind of addicting.

sell it, really hate to, but i cant go as far with boost as i would be able to with turbos. someones pulling 600 on turbos on 2-3 boost where i need 6-8 with my s/c. I'm looking for 800 to start with, and build up to 1000+ by my 21st b-day! (aug 10th)!

For all you "late" guys (hoping to show up and run later), it ain't gonna happen unless your car gets tech'd before they close tech inspection (usually 4:30, at least the last time I was there it closed at 4:30). It is limited to the first 300 vehicles and it was crazy busy the last time I went....

For those of you on the "bubble" for a particular cutoff time, yes, they are hard-asses there. I got the boot for running a 9.98!! .02 faster than allowed for bikes without NHRA license... I had been running consistent 10's (10.02 up to 10.4) all night and flinched a bit on one run and they boot me like I committed a crime! Gimme a break....

Read the rules they have on the site cuz they will stick it to ya!!

That is why I go to Sacramento, most of the time you can get in 8+ passes a night.

Exactly! I didn't even go in to the fact that I only got 4 or 5 runs before they started eliminations...

I have shown up as late as 7pm at Sac. And they still let me run. The best part of going there is if you get eliminated pull into lane 1 or 2 and keep making passes.

It was fun....I learned a bit but wish I had more runs to learn how to launch the car more effectively.
