Another dent/ding/paint chip thread.
I do understand.
Been buying new cars since the late 1960s, about 45 years. Seems like I can blow on my Camaro body panels and they are going to chip paint and dent the body panel. Never in 45 years have I had a car that dings and chips like my Camaro. It is almost like my Camaro body panels are made of tin-foil.
Love my Camaro but after ten months, it appears this car is going to be cosmetically high maintenance. Already spent more than $1000 touching up...Oh never mind except all the minor dings and chips are not due to careless parking issues, or road hazards, oh never mind. My baby is just fragile.

What good is the 2 year warranty I got at the dealership?

Does this not fit into that category?

Update, unsuccessful Facia removal for dent push in. the spot to push is too complicated cluttered with a honeycomb.

Alternate fix pending.

*my inspection guy told be about how horrible most paint jobs are for most body work...scared the crap outta me. He referred his guy...(ofcourse) not hating on his shpeil, but just (ofcourse). And he spoke of paint fading and discoloration. Damn I could amost live with this dent If I could just push it in. I dont want a repaint.

If you can afford to fix out of pocket, don't get insurance involved. Not only is it still going to cost you your deductible, but you'll be dealing with a rate increase most likely. The insurance companies know how to discourage use of their services you are paying monthly for already, sad but true.

If you haven't had the back rear piece checked, you might want to have the mounting clips checked. I had a rear accident and the clips was broke and the whole rear piece had to be replace.

Get it checked.

It's like an 2 inch wide and high on the left portion of the nonexistent bumper.

What should I do now. I'm so distraught I can't even think straight. :-(((((((

Should I go to the dealer mechanic? Should I call my insurance people?
Looking at it I guess the rear is all one piece? The whole thing needs replacement? how much is that gonna cost?

I just wanna die.

This man knows what he is talking about. LOL at the people who spend thousands fixing a problem worth hundreds.

Thanx for the sympathy and perspective guys. I was a total wreck yesterday. Time for me to get past it look to the future.
I spent about that much on my reverse camera/rear view mirror set up. Sounds like it would have already paid for itself.

Do not contact your insurance company until you get a free estimate on the repairs. I am a licensed independent insurance agent (although I no longer work in the field). Most people dont realize that just calling an insurance company about something like this can raise your rates. Basically they consider this you telling them, "Hey, I'm a bad driver, hit a pole and damaged my car. This is an example of more damage to come."

Once you get the estimate consider the consequences of having the insurance company pay for this (versus your deductible). If the repair is no more than a couple dollars over your deductible, I would pay for it yourself. Otherswise this will appear on your report for the next 7 years and most likely raise your rates. I always tell people it's their insurance and they have a right to use it, but always call their agents first to get (hopefully) some good advice on what they should do.
