Peoples... enjoy your cars, order new cars if so inclined. Giving any of this BS any of your valuable time to worry about is rediculous. Don't like unions, don't join one.

Starting chicken little thread titles like this is just poking a big pile of shit better left unpoked.

"GM may be on strike!"

Really? Research the facts a bit first before sounding the alarm.
Its not as simple as you make it sound, in MOST cases if you get hired by a unions company you are FORCED to join the union or you dont get the job, how ya like that extortion?....LOL

I am not in the union but work on many prevailing wage government construction jobs. These wages were fought for by the unions- thank-you to the unions for fighting for these wages- I couldn't have gotten a Camaro without them!

You are confusing the unions with Congress. Those assclowns are the real threat to this country. They get paid large sums and don’t produce jack. Same goes for Wall Street.

To your previous post…why should the union or any other middle class workers give up anything? Maybe it is time for CEOs, board members, and upper management to stop taking such enormous salaries. The average American corporate CEO makes 450 times that of the average worker in the company…that is just down right crazy! I forget who the next closet country is, but it is like 45 times as much, that is where the US was in the early 80s.

Then you get companies like Verizon Wireless, Boeing, GE, all making 10-20 billion in profits and paying no taxes while the middle class is expected to carry the burden. Oh and now we are expected to take less pay, contribute more to retirement and shut the **** up. Not this guy…I’m mad as hell and I won’t take it anymore. I could go on and on!

We need to vote these bullshit Republicans out and make some real change in this country and we will go the way of the Romans.

I have been on both sides of a company with a union. I was a member and also was management.(worked in a casino). I am very much against unions. As far as I'm concerned if you work hard everyday and do a great job, you don't need a union. Your knowledge and ability to perform a job should show a company they need you.It really depends what your work ethics are. I am not saying there are no good union employees out there because I know from experience there is. The problem is all the useless ones that hide behind them. I love the Camaros I have and had. I have always been a Camaro guy and will always be one. I can't wait for my new one I have on order to come in. Thanks to the union employees who really do care about building a bada-- car and are proud of it!!

I did not read the entire thread.....but please people - let's stop posturing and making such horrible statements.

To say that all union workers are money hungry is just not right.

And for the record: I do not belong to a Union - I never have - and I don't expect to.

We have a lot of great people in our assembly plants that go to work each and every day and work very hard and do the best possible job - because they have pride in what they do. They know (in the case of Camaro) that they're building a 'dream' -- so much more than 'just a car.'

The problem is that there will always be a small number of individuals that do bad things..........and the result is that an entire group of people get "painted with the same brush" so to speak.

How wrong and how unfortunate.

I think we all need to take a deep breath -- and let the sides negotiate.

Now - i'm going to say something that is MY OPINION - not that of the company for which I work:

Some need to go and look at the landscape as it relates to the auto industry. it is not a level playing field!

Go look at tarriffs that foreign countries put on U.S./Canadian built cars and trucks. Yet we allow them to bring their automobiles into our countries tarriff free.

It STUNS me that there are U.S. citizens that hope that GM and Chrysler will fail......................I just don't quite understand WHY some Americans hope the worst for their fellow Americans -- and yet they buy a car built by "American Honda"

(...let me assure you that it's still "honda" -- a japanese company)

I may lose my job by posting this - but I take the risk because it bothers me that people 'posture' when they don't know what they're talking about..........

I do hope that we can reach an agreement that is beneficial to everyone involved............I pray that happens.

Amazing how folks that supported the great work The Oshawa Team provides so quickly turns when the word Union is inserted into the delivery of a desired vehicle. I'd let the folks in Oshawa negotiate their contract as desired and let the market decide on the economics of the product. Mike and team, thanks again for 2 fantastic vehicles, the second my 12 ZL1.

Excellent points! Thank you for sharing your opinion. I feel very much the same way, and I appreciate you putting yourself out there like that to state what may be an unpopular opinion for some.
