LGKIDO,

It took a lot I am sure to admit what you have done, and yes, MOST of us have. MOST of us have been lucky.

Thanks for being honest, I am sure it hurts to admit, and know what your actions caused.

Hopefully you can help in a small way, by continuing to talk to others about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Hopefully you have opened some eyes.

Jim

I agree with supermaro585, Alot of people here on C5 and in our states have drivin buzzed, drunk or whatever,,,, We, who have done it, have been lucky to not have wrecked or caused an accident. It is ridiculous to do it, but this is reality. I live in a BIG city where nightlife is HUUUUGGGGEEEEEE, there are accidents like the one I posted alot. bikes especially..... Theres alot of strteet racing accidents here too.... its sickning to see a car like that one, you know there not with us anylonger

BTW: there's that 5 star crash test rating working at its best! Passenger (if one was preset) probably was hurt but doesn't look they would of have died (hopefully no one died)
We must be looking at two different cars. From what i see if anybody was in that passenger seat. First there legs would have been pushed back until their hips shattered and ripped from their torso. Then they would have had the top of their head pulverized by the front roof caving about a foot and bending back another two feet or more into nice jagged points to stab them in the head right through any airbag that would be facing the sky rather than at them. Then finally the dash smashing all their ribs. Not something i would want to SURVIVE

You could smell the blood when I looked into the drivers window... Sad and scary how fragile the new Camaro really is. The tree did not stop till it got to the passenger seat... yah it made it through the firewall. R.I.P to the man that was driving and love to the family left behind."

Evidently he doesn't know how well built and safe the Camaro is. We have no idea how fast the car was traveling when it hit the tree. I'd imagine he was in the 80+ MPH range by the damage. Subjected to that kind of impact, no car is going to hold up well.

RIP

Doesn't necessarily mean drunk driver. The wreck below near Indy was fatal and vehicle vs. tree, high speed was the factor and no suspicion of alcohol being involved. Odd that in both cases the bumper beam is wrapped around sticking out from behind the engine.

(Happened in March, 2011 http://www.wishtv.com/dpp/news/local...ilton-co-crash)

Edit: In looking at that first post/pictures again these results look freakishly similar, and both are SIM LT's.

And in both pics of the 2 cars it almost
looks as if the passenger door is rear hinged
not front hinged.

Either way both accident pics are hard to
look at knowing some one is gone.

You guys should be ashamed for ridiculing LgKido. He paid his debt to society and told his story when he didn't have to. When I was younger I drank a lot and drive all of the time. It was a different time then and was almost accepted until we got smart about the dangers. It took me 3 DUIs before I got smart stopped doing it. The last one I got was in 1994 and now I will go out and have a few beers and wait a few hours before I drive home.

No one on this forum is in any place to judge anyone else for anything we do on the street. The cars that we own I can guarantee we have all done something that we shouldn't have.

A lot of bars and night clubs would go out of business if people and society got serious about drinking and driving.

The one beer, or one drink theory sounds great, but I guarantee you if you get behind the wheel and injure or kill someone, you will still be considered impaired.

Too much emphasis is placed on the .08 limit. In the eyes of law enforcement, ANY alcohol consumption equals IMPAIRED.

Those that make it home safely never give it a second thought.

Don't drink ANYTHING and drive.
