The "bias" or "margin of error" in this poll will be that there are thousands of V6 owners who are not car enthusiasts who do not post on this site, where as V8 owners are usually more car enthusiasts and therefore more likely to have a membership here, so the numbers will be slightly skewed.

IMO.

On a different note - it's interesting to see (IN NUMBERS ONLY...) that V6 Autos > V6 Manuals whereas V8 Manuals > V8 Autos. Again numbers only. Just interesting to see the flip flop.

you will see more enthusiasts buying manuals in a general statement. of course its not all true. but out of all the manual owners and auto owners i would bet more percentage of the manual owners are more into cars as a whole over auto owners.

the v6 will attracts more non enthusiast, being people who want a cool car. that looks better, and is more sporty than there focus. there fore they get a auto most of the time.

the v8 on the otter hand you are paying more for the car, more of gas, more for insurance. you gotta love the performance side of the the car to want to pay more.

mustangs and camaro and challengers are a very unique type of car. because of so many different options available it brings in so many different types of people.

I think most V8 owners would want to participate if only to show there isn't as wide a gap in the ratio of V8's to V6's as most people think. And either way it turns out is ok with me.
Calm down, not implying anything. There's 68K+ members on this site, only a few hundred voted so far. Like Belle said, there may be bias in the membership towards "enthusiasts" who may be more likely to own 8's, or there may be more 6 owners who "want to be counted" than 8 owners, I don't know. There's only a few hundred vote so far - need to have quite a few thousand before it means anything. But I reject your implication that we V8 owners are "stuck up" - I voted!

Auto/V6

Bought it because I wanted a good looking car to commute in. Faster than any daily driver I have had before and the best MPG of all of them, too. It was affordable both in initial purchase price, insurance, and the gas to feed it. Traded an '05 Silverado Crew in to get it.

6 months and 6700 miles later I have no second thoughts. It is still everything I wanted

I never implied V8 owners were stuck up, based on your post about V8 owners being less likely to vote you were... This thread is only a few days old. I doubt all 68k members check it every few days or even weeks. You need to give poles a couple months before passing judgement on them or calling them biased.

I understand the motivation. That's all.

I doubt there is a bias, most V8 owners don't seem to have a problem telling newbs "Get the V8" or "Your car is missing two cylinders" and the ever popular "Boys have V6s and Men have V8s".

I find it hard to believe that V8 owners would be concerned with someone judging them on a blind pole. Besides you don't have to post to vote.

No you do not need a 1000 voters to get a since on where this is going, V8s have not gotten close to catching up. Sorry V8 owners. but if this was a 1/4 mile I would have to say you have been smoked. IMHO

Support for the V6 will pick up when the V8's go DI. They will have the same tuning issues at first. And we know that the V8 DI market will get support and this will lead to us V6's getting better tuning and parts!!
