Today when I picked my car up, the first thing that hit me was the bill for parts and labor for the installation of the ARHs/Borlas. When I originally dropped off my parts and told Blood Enterprises (our supposed best local performance shop) that installation has been taking most shops around 3 hours, I was met with silence and a supposed understanding.
Needless to say, I was punched in the gut with a $859 bill. On top of that, the owner told me that historically the gaskets sent by ARH are worthless, and stuck a set of LS1 gaskets on there without even asking or informing me first. He claims it took 6 hours of labor. ...hmmm.
On top of that, when I drove off to experience my new set up, I heard a horrible grinding sound and had to take it back. Luckily, it was only one of the cats rubbing against the heat shielding, and was quickly adjusted.
Does anyone besides myself get the impression that this shop robbed me blindly?
Oh, and to top the whole shabang off, they did a baseline pull on thier Mustang Dyno (which I've heard is historically an extreme low-ball number compared with a Dynojet) and only got 310 HP @ the wheels. After the install, I got a net of 17 HP. I don't have the torque numbers in front of me right now, but I'll post them when I post a vid here REAL soon, ok?

Now that I'm finished ranting about the tragic side, let me say this in bold letters for you all to see...
DAMN, this set up ROCKS!!

While the initial low end torque isn't much greater than stock (something I'm sure a CAI, ported throttle body, and tune will remedy in the future), the motor screams in short order and get EVERYONE'S attention "quick, like a bunny."
...and although it does scream and rumble with the best of em, it's fairly quiet and contained when driving mellow and shifting at lower RPMs to keep the neighbors content.
All in all, this set up is a BEAST than can be soothed at will.
ah, and the drone is minimal. It comes on just a tad at around 1700-1800 RPM, but is very managable and goes almost unnoticed when the windows are up...and that's without the music blaring!
Vid and dyno to be posted as soon as I can borrow me mum-in-law's IPOD...promise!
Don't go to Blood anymore. There's a place in Renton called Matthewsons automotive. They've done work to my Mach1 and other cars I know. Great people who don't screw you, and have lots of experience. They're in the book, and located right across from Renton airport. Sorry you got hosed, but that's Blood for you. Hence the name...

Swift, just wondering if the LTs are throwing any codes yet? Are you thinking of tuning the car or just waiting on the warranty to expire?

Thanks for the advice, mano...I greatly appreciate it. Yeah, I won't be stepping in Blood's doors anymore after getting hosed like that. After speaking with Nick today from ARH, I've come to the determination that they didn't read the simple instructions that came in the header package...morons.

So far, no codes...and fyi fellas...I'll post another vid soon so you can hear a more extended sound byte. I was in a hurry and didn't want to piss the neighbors off. I'll cross the street and take a shot from the school parking lot so you can hear it a bit better WOT.
Yes, I think I'm going to break down and get a tune. I'm just not sure yet whether I'm going to go through a local performance shop or through Vector Motorsports yet. I'm kind of privy toward having a stealth tune (if it's really the case), but on the other hand I plan on getting the Vararam "tune-only" CAI, and I would presume that to get the best "bang for the buck" that nothing beats a hand's on dyno-tune.

My ARH was installed Thursday, didn't throw codes till today. I got shipped wrong borlas by accident so those aren't on yet hence no video. Almost at breakin mileage so I will have codes tuned out shortly.

The headers add most of the sound and yes it's iPhone vid. I had stock mufflers on for a few days with headers but before borlas and they basically just refined the sound a little.
