So, Tag (or other that've done this before), tell us more about the day of... in terms of the car part. Do we (can we) stay with the cars all day? The cars are roped off, but on display and photographable? What else is there you can share?

Now, the Fair part itself I know all about all too well... haha. But tell us first-timers more about the show stuff.

However, if someone else comes up with something better, by all means, let me know!

and the map to show where it is

Directions on how to get there from the hotel. Print and save. Might need to type in the hotel addy first.
Yup, this is the Marriott I mentioned that's just north of Downtown, on I-35 (a.k.a. Stemmons.) Walking distance to Medieval Time, so don't miss the chance to see the show....

1) All participating vehicles must be in place before 9:00 am and remain until after 6:30 pm. No vehicles will be allowed out of the gates before this time.

***We stay for the whole day.....no one gets blocked in (remember you and everyone in your car/tow vehicle get into the fair FREE, so go enjoy the day!!!)

2) Under no circumstances shall a vehicle be started or driven between 9:00 am and 6:30 pm. The Fire Marshall can write a $600 ticket for non-compliance.

***This is so we don't have to disconnect our battery cables......just keep yer keys in yer pocket, darlin'!!

3) The corral gates shall remain CLOSED to the general public. Only Vehicle Owners will be allowed inside the corrals. Any other persons entering the corrals MUST be accompanied by the Vehicle Owner AT ALL TIMES.

***Joe Schmoe and his 14 kids do not get to "try out" our cars like they do in the AutoBuilding…horrors!!!

You can sit next to your car all day long if you so wish.

sometime throughout the day we will need volunteers for

1) Parkers: Two people from each club to help park cars in the two Corrals. These people will need to arrive at 7:30 am on the day of the show.

2) Rottweilers: Two people for EACH 1-hour shift (10:00 am - 6:00 pm) to watch the gates to keep the general public from entering the corrals. Please pick your meanest, raunchiest, scariest-looking members for these shifts. (I am not kidding.....!!)

3) Club Tent/Booth/Display: We want to have the three club displays set up next to each other outside the corrals so that people can get more information, buy t-shirts, etc. These booths need to be manned by your own club members at all times (one person can’t manage 2 or 3 displays at one time and something might get stolen)

Thanks, Tyrell. Good info, and similar to what I read on the F-Body site. I am kinda looking for more of an insider's view though, so to speak.

From what I read on the f-body site...apparently we're having "breakfast" as they were asking for volunteers to bring things... Bob & I signed up for ice, juice & cups.

I'm guessing we can come & go as we please, all day. So, bring chairs, a blanket, whatever makes you comfy...(after seeing all the State Fair you can stand).

We're excited.... Bob can't wait for the World Famous Corny Dogs & BEER!! I want to see the Pig Races. Oh wait, can I get Swine Flu from them?

This link should show the route from the hotel to the fairgrounds: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...7&ie=UTF8&z=13

Thanks for sharing the info Tag, I'll go ahead and book Friday+Saturday night. Like you said, well worth it to not worry about your car all night!

Edit: Looks like the $99/night rate is listed under 'Last minute weekend getaway'. Perfect for folks headed to the fair.

Wish I could join but I work 1st half of the day. Will try to make it out there afterwards. Where exactly in the fair will this be held at?

I have the sign up form for the F-body association. Does anyone know if I send it off tomorrow, (they should receive by Monday), would this be too late??

I'd fax them to be certain... better safe, than sorry. I faxed the forms... "Sent c/o Millicent Odell at 972-502-1001".

Well, if you've faxed them already great, but if not Millie is requesting that she receive NO more faxes... apparently the volume of faxes to her attention is creating some issues for her at work, and we sure don't want that!
