Me personally I would've went 1SS to get the big V8! But get what's going to make you happy! I hope you did! I've read a few posts off people wishing they would have went ahead and got the V8 and didn't! If you just going V6 cause of gas mileage then you should really thinkhard because my 2SS gets better gas mileage than most of the V6's I've owned in the past!

2lt for all the bells and whistles. They make the car so much fun to drive. the v6 is almost as quick because it weighs less. Good for mileage, insurance

Well, keep in mind, at the end of the day, it's situational.
I looked for the sweet spot for me. Did my homework on this site (HUGE help), compared all features and options off the Camaro site and of course my own limited budget considerations ... cost and payments. Utimately, I went with the 2LT/RS, plus added a few other options; Automatic, Stripes, Spare, Car Cover, Engine Cover (wansn't much left). I am a commter so mileage was a big consideration too. I read on this site that the Camaro 304hp V6 compared to the Mustag GT's 315hp V8. I also heard that Direct Injection mde a big difference in performance. So again, for me it's the best of both worlds. All the goodies and impressive performance as well. I won't lie though ... If I could afford the 2SS/RS with all the options, the payments and gas ... I'd do it ... Who doesn't want it all? Wait, now with the Z28's coming we all want that 550 instead of the SS, right! ![]() Bottom line, it's your decision to make that best fits your situation ... Most don't get to do this everyday, make it thoughtfully, no regrets and Do what I plan to do ... Enjoy the Ride!!! ![]() Good Luck ... Since you ask, I'll be interested in what you deciding and why.

I had trouble making the same decision. It literally came down to a coin flip. Luckily the 1ss won.
Some of the features of the 2LT are really nice and I would love to have them. However, I'm buying a Camaro not a luxury car. If I were buying a car for its nice features, then there are far better ones out there (camaros don't even have a gps option). I'm happy with my decision and as long as you are then it doesn't matter what you choose because you'll be happy too.

I went with the 2LT myself. I like the fact that it has heated seats, heated mirrors, blue tooth is pretty nice plus it also came with nice stereo and leather seats plus don' t forget the guages. If you have a little wieny you may opt for the V8 to show people how BIG you are.
![]() I used to have a V8 that would pull the wheels off the ground and sit you back in the seat and ALSO get me more tickets than I would want to pay. To each his own. I like bells and whistles myself. It has plenty of power for me. JMHO as always. |

Now that I'm getting senior discounts, I go with the theory I like my cars the way I like my woman...... Built for comfort rather than speed !!!!

If all goes well by the end of the week or early next week I will have my hands on a 2LT/RS/A6/IBM/Blk leather,20"polished wheels, and sunroof. I plan to use it as a daily driver so mpg is what I am aiming for, when the convertible comes out I will order my 2SS/RS or a Z/28 vert

I went 1SS. It wasn't a choice for me; I wanted the most horsepower for the buck. I understand the reasons for choosing a 2LT over a 1SS; good performance with style and comfort.
Having said that, the 1SS version isn't what I'd call bare bones. I was surprised what all came with it. I added a sunroof and upgraded speakers. |

I was faced with the same dilemma. Only for me, it was an easy decision, I wanted all the options, so I went with the 2LT/RS. I wanted the HIDs, the full leather (with awesome Inferno Orange), Bluetooth, etc etc.
I will admit, I was very impressed with the power from the v6, and still am. However, I can admit that the V8 would be nice to have the extra speed and acceleration. But I dont know if its worth the extra weight, extra gas costs, extra insurance costs, and less options. Not to mention you are 10x more likely to end up wrapped around a light pole or a tree. I am able to push my V6 very hard in traffic, and still feeling completely safe. Dont know if I could push the V8 in traffic just the same, without causing a crash. So also think of your typical driving environment. Ultimately it comes down to what you want from your car. If all you care about is having a bigger engine, then go for the 1SS. But if you want an over all nice car, with all the amenities, then go for the 2LT/RS. I would highly recommend the 2LT/RS, as I'm absolutely in love with mine.

I'd go for the 2LT/RS.
And buy a SS bumper
