I've heard of some people having nasty experiences running synthetic ATF in t56's. Something to do with tremec and gm using non-metallic blocker rings and detergents in synthetics eating them up and ruining transmissions.

I couldn't say for sure whether that would be a problem on the new t6060's, but I would be suspicious that gm is saying not to use dex6 in them; dex6 being a synthetic ATF. Rp's syncromax is a synthetic, so I'd consider yalls options before filling it up with it.

Never heard anything bad about Rp's gear oil, but I've never heard anything bad about gm's synthetic gear oil. Someone pointed out that Gm's requires an additive to work… the additive is a friction modifier for limited slip differentials. Cheaper for gm to make one synthetic gear oil and an additive than two seperate syn gear oils.

Yes, GM indicates, in the user's manual, to put in an additive. RP already has it in their gear oil so no additional additives are needed...

I was planning on doing this this weekend since we MIGHT finally have some nice weather. Figured I would call the chevy place and see what they charge for giggles. They quoted me at $240 for changing the differential fluid. They THINK it takes 3 qts to fill it (at $35 a qt with the rest being labor of 1 - 1.5 hrs)... the girl at the service desk said she doesn't think her service guy has done it before.

What a bargain! Tell them you will take two at that price! It takes one quart and about 15 to 30 minutes to do. I can't imagine their service guy will ever do one at the price they are quoting.
