Are you going to add a forged crankshaft and lower compression pistons, too? Or are you going to make 550hp at the wheels for ten minutes and then blow up the motor?

My plan(s) for ordering my 5th Gen., with the knowledge that the Z28 is not currently offered are the following;

1. Order the SS. After all, the HP numbers are nothing to sneeze at.

2. Order a dealer model, ie; Tom Henry, Berger, etc.

3. Order the SS, with GM performance upgrades.

Great discussion, as always.

I am reading between the lines here...

But, we have ALL been right - in one way or another.

Get me?

I mean that ALL different combinations of drivetrain variants have been weighed by those that COULD actually produce this thing.

The trouble is, bean counters -- legislators -- and top-level government execs have put the Kibash on what we already know can be produced.

They have tied the hands of those that could bring it to a dealer within 10-12 months after the initial launch.

There are some (probably MANY) that are screaming: "I Hear You!!! I want it more than you do!! BUT......"

Ya feel that?

I do. :fighting0040:

no im not. im going to do the head and cam package and fuel injectors and fuel pump and put a supercharger on , not maxing out the boost. if you start throwing lower pulleys on then you get into trouble. but it will be perfectly fine. i should be able to get close to 500 atthe wheels with the head and cam package and i might not even need to do the blower if i can get enough power out of the full exhaust and throttle body and other bolt ons. not to mention messing with the computer a little.

You really dont need to even change the heads bc they flow so well. Just make sure you dont go tooo big on the cam, bc boost and big cams dont mix too well.

I don't have a real good answer for that. Again we can jack this thread and get into the traditional Z28 vs what some would call the ZL1. But, to your point, I don't see why, if we can justify a supercharged Z28, we can just as easily accept a TT...

Banks certainly thinks that Turbos are the way to go.

Check this out for some more info on forced induction.

New to Forced Induction? Gale Banks talks about FI (Boost).

This thread is not the place for the Z06 VS GT500 conversation.

There are now two Z06 VS GT500 threads.

Z06 VS GT500

Z06 vs GT500KR

Move this conversation here. Watch the language. Please.
