I installed a thin piece of self-stick weatherstripping I got at Home Depot and it worked - no more rattles!
Wow I have had this problem as well for over two years! I did the same thing to solve this issue and it works great BUT... the stupid weatherstripping eventually falls off, maybe I need to superglue it on next time :( 4 tens in the trunk make my trunk wanna pop open when they are blasting! Good thing our trunks latch is very durable.

I had an issue with the weather stripping allowing water into my trunk, and it later would not allow me to fully close the trunk, for whatever reason it just stopped latching, I looked and everything seemed fine, but I removed the weather stripping and it started latching again... I plan to use smaller weather stripping next. I still need to dynamat the rear deck...

This helped a ton! Why are you guys only doing part of the trunk lid?? Are you that worried about the look on the inside of the trunk lid?? I say stop the noise, who cares what the inside of the lid looks like, its quite dark in there anyway.....

BTW, the thickness of the dynamat at the weather seal locations helps with sealing and rattle, other strip may not be needed then

It was only 40* in the garage, will iron things out when it gets warm out....

I think that looks terrible, especially the big tear you have.

I have a 2013 so I'm assuming the best course of action is

1. buy subwoofer and amp
2. install
3If there are rattles try the following in order

Stripping on trunk

still rattle

Dynomat deck

still rattle

Dynomat whole trunk
