I love it, it fits in my hand perfectly the bottom is perfect for resting your hand on it, it's one of those little touches I love about the Camaro, also keeping the Camaro as close to the concept was not a mistake as he states, it's what most everyone wanted, change it later fine but don't say it is a mistake.
I love the Wheel

The Z is awsome, Though I wont ever get one, unless its used way down the road, 50 grand is to much for me, But I feel this is where the price should be, it needs to take on the GT500. I'm glad there allways getting better, also realise that tech trickles down, the z 50k a few years later the same is in our SS's.

Sorry not sure who said it was a mistake but if it was it must have been a good one because look at the sales numbers, look at the people looking at you when you drive through town... There was 2 mistakes I saw; rally yellow which looks great, but they should have had the Bumble Bee color available as well and they should have had the car ready for orders when the first movie was out Though back then I probably couldn't have afforded one so the delay worked out great for me. So I agree with SummoneR now that we have our concept car lets make something else that will be added the history books!

Come on guys! A few years ago, I never dreamed that there would be a 500 HP+ Camaro! This is just awesome no matter how they do it! Happy days are here again! Enjoy them while they last. The future of performance isn't in V8s. This is the new golden age of V8 HP! We'll look back on this time later and smile, especially when all the newest Hi-Po cars are electric or 1/2 electric.

awesome news for both, but i seriously wished gm would have had the alpha already completed for 5th gen. imagin 3500lbs + ls3, every one would be playing mc hammers "can't touch this," as u drive by chally's and stangs.

Im wondering about these outgoing goals GM is trying to set. Cadillac besting BMW, Chevy interiors matching Audi? Bring back Pontiac and make them a high performance/low luxury division and id be all for it haha. Im just concerned with the price of the "new GM", BMW grade Cadillacs and Audi grade interiors are nice and all, but while i can re-set my idea of quality for GM im not going to re-set my idea of price. GM has and always should be a company for the masses. Do what you will but keep prices in check please.
GM isn't a company for the masses. It has 3 divisions with different buyers for each. Chevrolet is the entry brand. Cadillac is not. As far as price, Cadillac is GM's luxury division, and should be treated as such. They called themselves "The Standard of the World". Unfortunately they didn't hold to that standard after the 1960's.
If it is cheap, then it shouldn't be a Cadillac.
I don't think Chevrolet will get price increases because of better interiors. The Malibu, Equinox, and the Lacrosse at Buick already have better interiors. GM cut corners for so many years, and that's what lost them buyers. They can't afford to be cheap with their product anymore.

I think everyone is being optimistic with the Alpha's "low weight". It remains to be seen just what that will be.

[QUOTE=RWTD;1917490]Huh? It's gonna be approx. 300 to 400# heavier than the GT500, and make no more rwhp.

I'm almost willing to bet the farm that they will up the horsepower to set off the weight diff. A less restrictive exhaust alone should push power close to 570-575 and with a chassis that's 2-300lbs lighter than the V, the Z/28 should put the GT500 on notice!

What - that GT500 weight right around SS, so I'm sure adding LSA and the supporting chassis/powertrain upgrades would push it close to 4100 lbs., so I totally agree we're going to need at least another 30 horse to keep up with the GT500; who knows when that car will get another bump, lol. I hope the handling can be improved to at least match the GT500 too.

I HAVE FAITH!!!

I'm not sure what chassis or powertrain upgrades would drive the weight up. The supercharger of the LSA engine will add weight. On the other hand i would expect the
Z28 might have lighter weight wheels. The SS already has huge brakes and wheels so i don't expect those to be bigger on the Z28.

Well the V weighs in just over 4300lbs and still sprints 0-60 in 3.9-4.1 depending on who you believe. I've never tracked mine but I can say it's damn fast. So, if you piggyback the engine/drivetrain/brake combo from the V and come in at say, 4000lbs with a free-er flowing exhaust and a couple extra ponies found in that block, say 580-585 hp you're still telling the GT500 boys that you're here.
