A guy I know has an SLP modded '11 vert, and he said the paddle shifters won't let him get out of first gear as fast as he needs to. I'm sure they are engineered for the stock HP numbers, but not everyone will be keeping their beasty stock, especially over the long term.

I voted for the auto option, but before even considering getting one myself, I would want to know that it will shift exactly when I want it to via the paddles.

I'm totally down with everyone that wants an auto having one though.

You can forget about that. NO WAY they can put a true paddle shift system in here. Not without redisigning it.

PQ, you're right. It'd be the buttons on the back of the wheel like the CTS-V with the option of using the shifter as well, if an auto is announced.

I wonder if that can be tuned using software (EfiLive, HPTuners, Diablo, etc.).

I know that shift speeds could be tuned in the C5's with software, but I'm not so sure with the Camaro's with an A6.

Honestly, paddle shifting is over-rated imo.

if the gt500 owners laugh at you hopefully you'll be seeing it in your rear view mirror. and hopefully at that point they should stop.... from a marketing perspective they should offer an auto though. maybe improve the paddle shifting though. the buttons could be better

More to come with the HPE650 package. Supercharger with upgraded Fuel Injectors and Heads, Camshaft, and hopefully a Heads Up Display.

I'm thinking more news will become available about the ZL1 at the Camaro factory open house in Canada next month. Hopefully will get some more
insight as to the msrp, options, transmission, but the hp and items related
to this will be held back till much latter in the year. Getting closer to June
its just around the corner.

The only reason I can see that they would not sell the A6 is because they don't think they could build enough of them!!!

I don't think they expected to reach 1000 so quickly. Don't get upset just yet....

Does the fact that only a manual tranny is mentioned on the GM ZL1 website make anybody wonder?

Nope, cause that website doesn't really say much of any value
