I haven't shaved the back of the insert, but I did change the direction, still a big gap. I'll look and see what I've got to shave.

Well for me i had the holes still from the start ,so i left the LED behind the speedo.

yeah, I was going for the no drill method, but I'm seriously considering the drill method at the moment.

Tag, Do you have a photo of the backside of the driver side insert?

I broke down and took some video tonight.

I think you are going to like this...and hopefully it will help you out.

And FYI, I did my ABL when I got the car back in 2009. The only method we knew about at that time was the drill method. I'd go for it. With the dash insert always in there, no one will ever be able to see or know it's been drilled.

Excellent videos Tag. Did you upgrade your light pipes to the Newer ones that have more of an angle and are flexible? I did the orginal drill method of the ABL back in 09 also and I have had Ofers help to expand it to my doors also. Planning on installing the upgraded light pipes in my car to get the ABL to show up better.

I have not upgraded to the new pipes. I wouldn't be against trying it out. I heard about the light pipes, but never really looked into that much more since I was happy with my final outcome. I don't know...maybe I'll give it a shot. I am interested in seeing what they look like, though.

I'm taking a break.. The driver's side, I'm happy with. The passenger side.. ugh.. I've got light on both ends of the insert, but the middle is nothing. I'm using the weather stipping, so it should be pushing out the insert a little bit, but it's not... ugh. I'm going to bed and will think on it over night.

We've got a nighttime meet coming up Saturday and I'm hoping to have this finished by then. (crossing my fingers that tomorrow is a better day)
