1st to 51? Compared to my STi that's long. The OP thread continues to amuse me.

Tramtwo you can still say it... You just have to specify that everyone in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA loves the 1LE.

I was gonna say something but I see it's all been said already... lol

IMHO the 1LE is damn near perfect out of the box. A few things needed to be turned up though.

>Get new tires

Pretty easy. Honestly I would have gotten a 2SS/RS 1LE but it probably wouldn't have been a good idea. That's a lot of gear in a very fast car. Again, like the first few responses, not for everyone.

The 1lE gearing is not as drastic as you people think, it is designed to pull a little harder in 3rd and 4th gears by giving up a little in 2nd. The trans gearing makes up for the 3.91 gears. 1st gear in the SS and 1LE are nearly identical at 10.38 vs 10.40 pverall gearing which means first gear tops speeds are 53.37mph vs 51.79mph. If you think that is a big difference i think you are crazy.

OP, if you are still reading these posts, I test drove a 2013 "standard" manual 2SS before buying my 1LE SS and I never even got to test the 1LE out. The standard 2SS "sucked". Hey if you can complain about the 1LE, I'm gonna complain about the "Standard" 2SS. The ride was "way too soft". I did not feel like I was driving a modern sports car which is what the Camaro is BTW. I had a 1LT/RS Gen 5 and even it had a better ride than the 2013 standard SS in terms of handling. And don't get me started on the shifting or handling of the standard 2SS. I love every single thing about my 1LE and have no remorse whatsoever about buying it. Sure some days I curse at the amount of gas I'm sucking up and sure some days I think the tires are crap in the cold. But you know what, I still want to go drive the hell outta it. And also the roads here in San Jose are some of the worst in the country and I don't think the ride is that harsh. (Although I've driven lowered cars before.)

I see two positive outcomes to the OP's hatred of the 1LE:
1. Someone will get and appreciate an almost new 1LE at a good price.
2. A Smart car salesman will make commission from OP in the near future.

Are you basing this on driving around Orlando? I've been to Orlando many times, you have nothing to complain about. Come to Minnesota and drive on our roads that freeze and buckle during the winter. I wish I had roads like yours to drive on.

On the 1LE you should only need first gear to start from a dead stop, if you are moving at all just use second gear, plenty of torque to move the car if its already rolling.

I'm just saying let him blow off steam a little, everyone needs to vent sometimes.
We were 14,000 buyers back in 2009 when we bought the Camaro without even trying it. I`m sure there was lots of people that did regret buying it back then for whatever dislikes... IMO
