You're gonna have to wait more than just a few years.

To me it's not about being a N/M car but that it's an all factory car that will be made in such low numbers. Having said that, I would still prefer a Nickey or something similar with performance enhancements and limited numbers.

So what is dealer invoice vs what NM is "charging" Know you won't or can't tell, but maybe I can ask GM to build me 100 to my specs, then overcharge my buyers. Might not sell out in 3 minutes, but if they're a "special edition" I'll eventually get them sold!

This is how car companies and corporations ruin a good thing with their greed. they would have doen better charging say $5K more than stick including delivery on an unlimited run until christmas.

Because the price is an example of corporate greed. The car is nice.. the price is an insult to poeples intelligents. I aways said you don't have to be smart to be rich. It just happens or you are born into it.

Me too !

OK --

Tell me how much you think it costs to validate a new paint color.

Tell me how much you think it costs to validate a new wheel.

Tell me how much you think it costs to validate a new interior trim.

If you are close, I'll certainly tell you - but then take those costs -- add them together - and divide by 100.

Corporate greed? Don't think so!

(........and by the way - if you are a U.S. Citizen, you own part of GM.....)

I don't mean to belittle you - I know you feel very passionate about Camaro - and I know you love your new Transformers Camaro --

..... but unless you know those costs, I'd kindly ask you not to make statements such as
".......Because the price is an example of corporate greed. The car is nice.. the price is an insult to poeples intelligents...." that simply isn't the case. I really isn't!

One last thought:

The one thing that makes this car special is the 'luxury' - the 'uniqueness' -- the 'cache' of "Neiman-Marcus" - THAT'S what causes a car designed like this - priced like this - to sell out in three minutes....

We COULD offer a "Wal-Mart" Edition - with a lower price - but what would be the point?

As a Camaro Enthusiast - I am delighted that Neiman-Marcus chose a CAMARO - -not a Mustang, not a Lexus, not a Toyota, not a Challenger -

..........a CAMARO - and that they sold out in RECORD time..........

.........and for the LIFE of me - I cannot understand why Camaro enthusiasts bash that......

Exactly ! People are playing the collectors game way too much these days. Collectable objects happen by accident, not by design.

Here is a collectable car in 20 years a 1LT/2LT with ‘CTH’ and MN6 Manual Transmission. Only 72 of them made according to the site. Probably none of them are in garages. Try to find an example of one of those in 20 years.

They could replace 20 of their 50 handicap parking spaces with parking spaces especially for Z-28 drivers. Makes too much sense to become reality; what a shame.... DUGG
I like the idea ! Lets keep rolling with it !

I was thinking about that. Maybe it comes with special paint that resists chips more than our camaros. But there is another side to that. Wait until they try to match the color or find the paint. Maybe they will have to buy it at NM for a $1000 a gallon. I wonder if insurance will cost more for that edition?

I do love my camaro. Maybe too much.. I'm very happy with everything about my Camaro (except the paint). I love all new 2010-2011 Camaros, and old ones too. I assure you my words were not intended to attack you.. Nor would I want to have an undesirable forum relationship with you. So please don't take all this personally.

I'm sure that the whole idea was exicting for GM and NM, but in the end can you see what happens when you ask for a ridiculous price for a car? Maybe it wasn't a good idea if you look at it from the general public's perception..

As far as dividing all of the exta cost into the price of the cars, maybe that wasn't a good idea. Maybe they should have made 300 or 500 of them to make it practical or maybe it should have been divided into the "big" picture.. All of this is a kind of advertising for GM and the new camaro that everbody loves! An iconic view of American culture. The Camaro is popular right now. So maybe that cost should have been divided into GM's advertising budget instead of into 100 cars that people think are going to be worth $1,000,000 some day.

I am delighted that they chose the camaro too and not a mustang.

The bashing comes from a culture of hard working middle class that are upset with ridiculous spending and wealth.. Like when GM flew into Washington on private jets to ask for money. Why didn't they drive they are a car company? Anyway lets not go there. My moral of the story is it's all about perception..

OK, proof readers get to work ! I threw in some typos for you to find. If you get really bored you can check my grammar and capitalization. It's a game to pass your time.. Find people's typos and pick on them.. If you want a real challenge we can switch to another language. Kind of like advancing to the next level on a video game.

See I don't do that I'd rather correct them to build them up instead of tearing them down, but I guess that's how you make yourself feel better by pointing other people's mistakes..

I'd rock it in a heartbeat.....If I had the money, but its out of reach for most people who sell them.

But I'd consider myself an Enthusiast, AND Loyalist. Guess that's the difference. I love them all.

I sold a Neiman Marcus 2004 XLR (#82 of 101) to get my 2SS/RS ZL550. The color of the NM Camaro Convertible appears to be the same color of the NM XLR (purple). Real beauty. I made a valiant effort to get in on the opportunity to own one of the NM Camaros but my speed dial failed me.

Sorry to hear that!! You might want to call program headquarters and get your name on the list JUST IN CASE. If something happens to the ordered cars they revert to GM and they go to the next person on the list.

One thing they did not release was how many people are on the list, so it might be worth the phone call!!

I am SOOOO EXCITED that we will be getting one here!

If you haven't "negotiated" with your dealer, you can still call Neiman Marcus to select a new one
