Not always, I think we got lumped in with the muscle cars at some point in time when consumers started to become ignorant. We have actullay been told to call it a performance car.

The best thing Chevy can do is hype the 29mpg with picture of the car and then talk about the 304hp for the V6. I wouldn't even talk about the V8 except in print ads in Car and Driver, Motor Trend, etc. The sales people can tell the shoppers about it when the guy says, Gee I wish it had a V8 like the Vette'

Did they really say GM was using the bailout money to put the camaro out? This has been in the works since 06. The media is a part of the problem for the US auto makers. However to me they seem to be harsher on GM than the others. The people sitting at home thinking about getting a car watching the news hearing all their crap about well GM is going to go into bankruptcy. it doesn't matter what they say after that, most people are going to believe that the warranties aren't going to be honored and the people that do go to the dealerships think "well they will do anything to sell a car I'll get this for 10,000 under invoice"

I can just imagine. I have now cooled off after last nights diatribe. But, let me tell you, as this country slowly slips into the abyss, I am sick and tired of giving up my personal freedoms to support the Socialist agenda espoused by so many.

Pretty soon, you won't even be able to go take a leak, without the Feds looking over your shoulder.

When GM, (or whomever) comes out with the next generation of autos, they had best remember the loyal performance car fans who were there when they needed us.

My Flexfuel, E-flex, plug-in hybrid, 440 volt SS Camaro, had better be ready to take on the Foreign Competition.

Oh please, this country couldn't have slid more towards the abyss than it did the last 8 years. Why don't you give the new guy a chance before crying like Glenn Beck about "socialism."

Y'all shouldn't be so quick to knock new technologies. Lexus is making some quick hybrids, and GM is hinging their future on the Volt. I think a Turbo-4 with plug-in-electric-motor Camaro would be awesome. Faster than the 6, with huge torque off the line from the electric, and huge gas mileage. "Responsible muscle." It wouldn't be cheap and doesn't need to be marketed as an economy car. Lexus promotes their's as up-market performance. You could retain the musclecar image and establish superiority with new-tech at the same time.

With all due respect, I am not going to engage in political blather blaming Liberals or Conservatives for the troubles this Country faces.

There is enough blame for both sides to take a hit. If you don't like my Socialism comment, so be it. I haven't taken any personal attacks on anyone including you. So lighten up.

Being "liberal" has nothing to do with your feelings towards the Camaro, the media is actually closet conservative and is currying the element that always had it in for sports car htat has no particular political stripes. The same group that went out and bought gas-guzzling SUV's that the media did not complain about.

My overall take is that the Media folks, just don't get the "Car Guy" personna or mentality.

I am tickled to death about the new Camaro. I am even happier about the relatively great fuel economy ratings. Can anyone imagine going back to 1969 and saying that your 426 horsepower Camaro was capable of over 24 MPG on the Highway?

Shoot, you would use a gallon of gas just starting one of those Big Block Bad Boys.

You would have been laughed off the street.

It is all a matter of perspective. Us older folks, will always have a slightly different take than the young'uns. That the way it is and the way it has always been. We are human.

Well, then it's a good thing you didn't eat a can of spinach and go beating up everyone, huh?
