That is the manual for the 2010-2011, that option is not in the book. The book says to take it to a dealership and have it programmed with a TPMS relearn tool. Those instructions you have are not in the 2012 book. Even though the option is not on the TPMS system if you hold in the set button on the TPMS system it will pop up and ask to relearn. I did get it to work. I tried 3 times and got it to work on the 3rd try. I aired the tires close to 40 PSI on the 3rd try and let air out for 5 to 10 seconds and then you have to wait close to 30 seconds maybe longer for the horn to beep, I never timed how long it took. Then proceed to the next corner indicated by the brighter turn signal which is the order listed in your book. Even though the book for the 2012 says you need the relearn tool I was able to do it by the procedure for the pre-2012 process.

I tried to do it manually on my 2011 1lt with no luck.
The horn beeps twice..marker light comes on...but I let about 20 lbs of air out and the horn never beeped. Do I need the tool for 2011...the owners manuel says I do.

A tip for 'relearning' the tpms.
If you have extra idle wheels with sensors or just sensors near your car (ie: in the garage with the car), move your car away from those before you try to the relearn feature. May be a good idea to also move it away from other cars with tpms in case the MHz is in the same ballpark. I've a late model 2011 SS and I just bought two new sensors to go with two 9" wide wheels I've installed on the front. The two old front wheels with tires and sensors are stored in the same garage as the car. I tried the relearn instructs (originally posted by SUX2BU on page one) because my owner's manual is the version which says I have to use the relearn tool - Not True! I tried to reset the tpms in the garage and couldn't get it to recognize the first tpms. After moving the car out of the garage, the same relearn procedure worked like a charm.

I have a 2012 LS bought 2010 SS wheels and the manual procedure worked. Went back to my stock steelies and that air out procedure doesn't work. Called my dealer and they only want $25 to do it. I'll be going up there in the morning.

Just a tip to try but it is your $25 to spend to have someone do it. Good luck on getting it free. Another suggestion would be is instead of paying the $25 for someone to do it, invest in the tool. Dean. |
