I just saw the commercial for the new Knight Rider TV show. Have they lost there freakin minds? A Mustang, A Mustang, A FLIPPIN MUSTANG! How can they justify this bone head decision. I hope Goliath comes by in the first show and crushes K.I.T.T. Who's going to play Michael, Neil Patrick Harris? If the decision was mine I would have K.I.T.T. be a 2002 WS6. He was a Trans Am after all. When the 5th gen comes out I would have a terrible battle between K.I.T.T. and Golialth or even K.A.R.R. When K.I.T.T. is critically damaged replace him with a 5th gen. That's almost how they did it in the show. Just avoid the cheesy Super Pursut Mode. I hope they at least keep the black semi and not have K.I.T.T. pull into a trailer being pulled by a Tacoma. Maybe I'm over reacting buy they just ruined my chilhood A FLIPPIN MUSTANG! Is there no justice......

I know right............it totally sucks because I was a big Knight Rider fan back in the day. The only good about this is that, this is just a two hour movie event and we dont have to look at much longer than that. David Hasselhoff is slated to play his original character, with other young budding stars(as the NBC website portays it). I dont know if I even want to watch it on Feb.17th.

There's a 4 page long thread in the General discussion/Other Cars forum. There were a few chops of what knight rider should look like instead of a bloated mustang. I might watch it just because. I'm pissed I missed the premier of American Gladiators.

If you go on Youtube and type Knightrider you can see the trailer of the new show. K.I.T.T. doesn't even say Micheal he says Mike. I was hoping to see Knightrider return but not like this. There are not a lot of muscle cars to pick from right now but a least use a GM. The new Bluedevil (sorry ZR1) Vette would be a suitable sub. I was reading on Knightrideronline the reason behind the decision. The orginal K.I.T.T. was for Knight Industries Two Thousand and the new K.I.T.T. stands for Knight Industries Three Thousand. Well Whoppie. They wanted to keep the design current because so much time has passed. The new Mike is supposed to be Michael's son, but he doesn't know it. An Army Ranger who is a reluctant hero. The new Bonnie or what ever there giong to call her is a professor at an Ivy League school. Oh yeah her father or grandfather invented K.I.T.T. I'm not one to be stuck in the past but I just don't understand how they can butcher such a classic T.V. show. Next thing you know the A-Team will be undercover security at WallMart.

I will never own a Mustang I don't care what they call it. I doubt that I will ever see a Knight Ind. Three Thousand on the road but on any given Friday/Saturday night I just might pull up on some K.I.T.T. wanna be and show them what made the original so cool..

I just left the Knight Rider website, and people, it seems as if we are not alone inour disgust of NBC to replace KITT with a Mustang. some good reading here (not if you are a Mustang Fan). Check it out.

Just found that the voice of KITT is going to be Will Arnett. He is a good fit for a funny guy in a slapstick comedy, but as KITT............:(

Check out my rebuttal to some Mustang owners talking mess on this same Knight Rider online website (I think it is some of my best work).

Well,

Mustank owners are just happy to see that their car is going to get some "overpublicized" hype because of what happened this summer (July 3rd and October 16th to be exact). I like Mustangs, my best friend owns one, but the pure arrogance of some Mustang owners just kills me. Dont get all giddy because NBC want to feature this car, they just needed a cheap cheesy looking ride to do kind auspicious detailing to, that is it. I was one of those kids watching this show growing up, and if KITT was a Mustang back then I would not have cared, but now that I am an adult I don't think like a child. NBC would have made off like fat cats waitng to use the upcoming, stylish, more spohisticated Camaro concept to feature in their attempt to revive a legend. But, did I say they were looking for a cheap car already? Oh yeah I did. I am going to watch this show because I love KR. All the while thinking to myself, why woulf they use a leading lady like Courtney Love (aka the Mustang) vs using someone beautiful, hot, and up and coming like Scarlett Johanssen(bka The 2009 Chevy "not too long to be a concept" Camaro)?

I think Will Arnett is going to do a dam fine job... He's been the voice for GMC the last few years...

Just as the Mustang is most likely going to be successful as KITT.

Just fyi... The spotlight shined on GM, so-to-speak. GM didn't ask to be put in the movie, as I understand it. Michael Bay came to them.
