More people will see it this way.

Also dealers are charge by GM something like a (hold back fee?), not sure if that's what it's called but GM charges them a fee for every new car that is on the lot and not sold. If yours is sold and you own it tell them you want that fee paid to you for having it as display after you own it.

Myself, I would have it on the road the minute they finish PDIs.

Sounds like you're doing the right thing in at least getting the paperwork done and the car transferred to your name. The rest is up to you if you want to do them a favor, but I'd be doing everything I could to be sure they can't sell it out from under you.

If I was going to let them have it in their showroom for a couple of days, I would make sure it was roped off and that no one was allowed into it, but I don't think I would try to chisel anything extra out of them like a car cover. I'd be willing to do it because I'm a Camaro enthusiast and I wanted to share the love, but that's just me. I'd just be looking for good karma out of it.

hhhhhhhheeeeeeeeellllllllll no, first of all he's a liar for telling u a day or two for recallin plus PDI so he can hold ur car behind ur back without even knowing that your car on display being touch, played with, smelling the new leather. And if he wants people to see it tell them to watch the television and put their name on the waitin list like everyone else. i wish my dealer would tell me what he gonna do, then ask me can he do that. "Give me my keys" and im sayin it nicely. or u can say "give me my f^-kin keys."

Madea goes to jail

Thumbs down GET YOUR CAR!!

DUDE?!?!
Go get "your" car. It's "your" order, "your" car. Let the dealership order "their" own car to sit on "their" showroom floor. To me, that's just wrong!!!
Think about how many people are going to be walking/running by it, hopefully not scratching it, sitting in it, bringing the kids to come see and sit/play in it.
For me: NO THANKS!
Either that, or like others have stated. TELL them you WANT more money off "your" car for advertising.
Sorry, just had to vent. At least you know your car is complete. GOOD LUCK!!!

A dealer can't sell your order legally can they? If you call GM and get a VIN number and the dealer sells that VIN number and tries to give you a different one later, couldn't you sue or something?

Ummmm me too!

I understand where the dealer is coming from, but the fact that he tried to snow you over first, and THEN broke out and told you the truth, I'd have been in the car, on my way to the dealer right then and there. I would have left with my car that night and told them... "well if you had been upfront and honest, then maybe we could have worked something out, but instead you tried to sell me on a lengthy recall repair that in actuality takes 30 minutes."

Im surprised they would try that, maybe it's a rookie salesman or something. They better not try that shit with me! Thats for damn sure! But I wont be getting my car for 6 months probably!

I think at this point I would respond with "I understand" and then I would tell him what horrors await them if you walk in and find your car on the showroom floor, or up on the display stand in front of the lot.
