I kinda liked the looks of the first iteration better.

But seriously you guys should check out some of the nicely modded Genesis out there, they look pretty sick...

Not crazy about it...it looks like every other Korean car out there. Not a bad car though. At least its rear wheel drive. Enjoy it.

Show us that contract. Unless you were paying fat lease payments, you usually don't just "make up the difference". You usually lease it for $XX for xx months, then agree to a buyout option of $XXX ahead of time. I've never seen the two add up to the same as the sales price unless they're gouging you on the sales price to begin with.

If you do NOT have to sign over the title when you turn it in...then it is NOT your car. I've never seen any lease anywhere that says something is yours. I've leased apartments and I never owned it. I didn't listen and leased an 86 Monte SS and paid $200 per month for 24 months. Didn't own it for one second. It's only your car if you buy it.

Otherwise, why is it called a lease and not a purchase? Sounds like someone has convinced you on a bill of goods somewhere.

I need to get into the car leasing business. I didn't realize so many people had trouble with basic finance to the point where they thought leases were good deals.

I'll always buy my cars because I can't afford to lease them. If I was super rich, maybe I'd lease to get something new on a regular basis.

Even though I think the car is plain jane when did this thread turn into lecturing a grown man about how he spends his money?

Again, I'm in the car business and own my own car lot now. I was a sales manager at a Chevy dealer for 3 years and did a lot of leases for people. I lease my own personal Escalade right now and at the end of 2 years I will get a new Escalade. I did the math and if I would of did a 72 month buy term and decided to get a new one in 2 years I would of owed more. With the lease at the end of 2 years I will be able to sell it myself with the remainder of the factory warranty the will transfer to new owner. If you go on Cadillac website and get lease payments you will see that a 2 year payment is actually less then a 3-5 year payment. The key is to do the lowest term lease you can do. Hell who doesn't want to drive a brand new vehicle every 2 years. The people that say leases are no good are the people that don't understand them. Sure if you have cash it is the way to go. Remember this you buy what appreciates and lease what depreciates. (EXAMPLE) House = Buy Car = Lease

The car has nothing to do with America til it's done being built and sold at dealers. Only big wigs get money from the camaro. At least the Japanese cars give American workers jobs. A lot of Americans can provide for their families thanks to car makers from across the pond. GM can't say that because their junk is built in Canada and Mexico.
You best look and see where that 'merican made RAM's HEMI is made before you start knocking GM for producing stuff in Mexico.......

It was made in St. Louis. Good try though. They had 3 plants. 2 in America and 1 in Mexico. My dodge ram is very much American compared to a camaro. Americans get more than just corporate profit. And 92k completely trouble free miles. Can a camaro owner say that?? Nope.

I don't get whats wrong with leasing. I leased my last car, a 2005 Mustang, for 5 years. At the end of the lease I bought it then sold and made 2K. My payments were cheaper than if I would have financed it. I am not leasing my Camaro though, financed for 6 years. I owe less than its worth so Ill be selling it next year and getting a '69. BTW not a fan of the Genesis... the 370Z is so much cooler.
