Long time lurker, first time poster. I saw this commercial today and thought it was really interesting because in addition to being a camaro lover, I also had another "connection" to the commercial, which is my contribution to knowing the commercial is fake/staged:

I own those hidden camera glasses that he is wearing. The quality is good, but is only 640x480 resolution, definitely not the HD quality you see in that commercial when you are supposedly seeing from "his eyes".

You can actually see the real footage from Gordon's glasses camera at the 3:38 mark in the commercial - so it looks like they at least did use the footage from the glasses for some of the commercial, but definitely not the majority of the it.

Just another way you can tell this whole thing is fake/staged...they had to have used a different camera to get those views of what he was seeing.

Definitely staged. The video footage from Jeff Gordon's "eyes" does not actually come from those hidden camera glasses that he is wearing. You can see the actual video quality at the 3:38 mark in the video. They would have had to use a completely different camera, meaning that the "salesman" would have obviously been aware of what's going on.

Source: I own those same glasses that Gordon is wearing

That being said, it's still a hilarious commercial

Exhaust note is too deep for V6, '09 sticker on a 2013, cupholder placement above mylink system. In the video, there is also a camera attached to the door for video, but it doesn't appear.

It's a V6 Auto... no way it breaks loose like that unless he sat and held the nanny button long enough to turn off all the traction control stuff. Funny, but definitely staged/faked.

It was a staged deal for Pepsi. What difference does it make what year they claim the used car was. :(

Even with all the nannies off, he still couldn't spin that easily....

Probably so. So many issues with the commercial.

Still funny though.
