June 29th build date ?... Post here

plz plz plz camaro gods...let our cars be built and shipped by the 4th of july!!!

So it should hopefully take about 3 weeks to get our cars from here? And 2 if there was no shutdown? Are there no quality control problems anymore or do we have a chance to go there?

I read San Diego is the last stop for delivery that really sucks.

Once more the shut down wont delay anything as long as the cars are in transit, if they get stuck at the factory though, then it will delay them til the 13th which is 2 weeks.

yea but when u say stuck at the factory...do u mean stuck on the line or even built stuck in the lot? because i doubt any car that rolls off thursday is going right on a trailor/train

and bluecamarguy...where did you read san diego was a last stop? curious to know how many stops would be ahead of me ordering outta new jersey

there seems to bea little disconnect... so let me try to facilitate...

this saturday night when they shut down, what is on the assembly line will stay right where it is on the line. What is on the QC line will sit on the QC line. What was rolled out to the stageing area on the plant lot "to be shipped" will likely sit right there on the lot.

those cars which have been turned over to the shipping companies will be moved out.

it may suck to think that you car got made this week or is on the plant grounds but is sitting, waiting for the week shutdown to be over, but that is simply the way it is.

My build date is also 6/29. I was told by a friend of mine who works for GM and has been watching my progression thru this. He also told me that the plants close for 2 weeks for the holidays and GM forces them to take vacation over this time period. So our delivery times will be more than 1week. Also mine was ordered on April 14th and I see here on this forum that cars ordered in May are already being delivered, whats up with that?

i don't work for GM. i'm restating what has been said in other strings by people who do work the line.

I am just another one of US who has a TPW of 6/29.
I wish they weren't shutting down for a week, I wish I already had mine. yada yada yada

some of the post here are vacilitating the story left and right.

theMole who worked the line, (he just retired last week) siad they whould shut the line down on saturday. where ever the car is in the production process, is where it will sit till july 13.

the shipping companies however are not subject to GMs scheduled shutdown. they are different owned companies. they will still be at work moving those cars that they took posession of from GM by close of business this saturday.

this is not rocket science. theMole has a history of being right on the money with all his info. he is not the only one on Camaro5 who works at the assembly line in Oshawa.

read the threads, do a search, figure it out for your self. but don't regurgitate speculation unless you are very confident about it's legitimitacy and can "cite your source".
