Technically you CAN dyno it, you just won't get anything useful out of it and it would be a waste of time and money. You either need a manual transmission, or a car with a real manual mode like the LT trim cars.

I wouldn't say fixed... But better... I've still got this set of 3.55's I'm tempted to install.

I don't understand your question? I'm not saying you won't feel a difference from a tune... If your car really does stay in one gear and has TapShift/Manual mode that works on your 2ls, then you won't have any problems dynoing it.

From his posts in the "Considering" thread, I'm reasonably sure he has ERS.

Agreed.

Anyway, the Vararam showed up today... Just before dark :( So I only had about 20 minutes to play with it... I'm reasonably certain I can get it to fit with some creative spacing, and a little light massaging... I'll report back when I have time to really get into the project, which will most likely be this weekend.

Best of luck.

I doubt you'll need any help or ideas (your a smart guy!) but if you have any questions about how something was installed on the LLT let me know. I know it took a few times to get it perfect and make it stay put after drives. Of course, since your doing this on an LFX not much of my knowledge may apply.

Still no word from vararam.. Although they may not spend all day on the forums, but it's been over a month, that's just Terrible customer service, leaving their customers hanging like that when all we are doing is trying to give them our money! I mean people are so tired of waiting they are experimenting with the LLT version? Not a reliable company.

If you are going to tune it anyway, then why not lock it in gear through the software? Tuning makes a big difference in the way the car feels as you are driving it. Too many people focus on peak wot hp numbers. Transmission tuning made a big difference too. These motors/transmissions are choked down from the factory with torque reduction systems.

Supply and demand. v8's usually get the most love in the performance area, and it drives me mad... no pun intended

Can you lock it in one gear via HPT? I'm sure someone would have mentioned that by now.

I don't see why not...Correct me if I am wrong...I did notice the tutd feature on the stock tune is disabled. If I had a hpt file of a lt car then I would know exactly what the differences are. Here is a screen shot of one of the menus on the transmission. notice tutd disabled. And pattern b is trailer
