Disclaimer signs

I can hang a sign around my neck that states that I am not responsible for anything and...well, know how far that will go in court.

My wife is an attorney. She says disclaimer signs don't mean a thing in court. Car washes use them because, they scare off 95% of the potential liability cases. Go talk to the car wash owner in a civil, but firm manner.

If you get no resolution, you will be at the point that you have to decide just how far you want to go with this; i.e., legal expenses, time off from work, lost wages, etc. Filing with the Small Claims Court may be your best next step. Retaining a lawyer would follow. At that point the car wash will have to decide just how far they want to go with this issue.

In the end, you will get some compensation if you go far enough. How much, and when, will depend on how willing you, and/or the car wash, is willing to fight, how much expense and hassle the both of you are wiling to incur.

ok same issue kind of...advice,

Ok i had kind of the same problem but mine happened at the dealer (they said it was like that before they started working on my wheel) any who, i took mine to a wheel guy around here. He made mine look like nothing happened to it. The problem will be clearing it again. I have the same wheel and my nicks were about the same and worse i had a gouge x2; you cannot even see them now, i will post before/ after pics when i get home. This guy had over 27 years fixing and expanding wheels and did mine for 150 in a day. So if you can find a good wheel guy take it there and like i said the only problem may be clearing it again.

Stang...I agree...I ONLY use brushless for a few reasons..The one I know of does not recycle water and secondly, I work alot...If I get bug grime or get caught is rain and there is alot of junk on my car, I will run her through the best wash he has...As well, I only do this at night on way home from work when I know I cant "properly" hand wash.

There are times when I work 5-6 doubles in sequence..I have to do the best-"worst" I can.

Ya, good luck. I've NEVER seen one of those without a disclaimer.

They're not chrome. Polished alluminum. Can be repaired but won't be cheap. However, cheaper than a new one.

The wheel weights are not old school clamp on lead weights though, they are adhesive weight strips that are stuck on the inside of the wheels.

first off, it looks like you did this yourself when you pulled in, also why would you take a brand new 2ss camaro thru a auto car wash, and besides that your car is still dirty. just like your language.

Even if they have signs it means nothing. It's just like the signs posted out side of walmart, grocery stores, target, etc... about cart damage to cars. Or home owners and dog signs. Or 18 wheelers/dump trucks with "not responsible for flying debris"

File a police report immediately. Go to car wash and inform their management. They will fill out an insurance worksheet. They HAVE to fill out paper work and report it to their insurance. Then call your insurance company and let them know.
This advice bears repeating. The disclaimer doesn't dictate the car wash's liability.

Yeah...actually, the word is not "scandalous", it's "fraudulent".
