Now, I have the following, my car NEVER was the right color. It came two tone. The hood and fenders are a shade off of the car color. My car is RJT and I never noticed how bad it really was until I saw it on an overcast day. I have a friend who owns a body shop and all of his guys always comment on what a “crappy paint job my car has” That makes me feel wonderful. :o(

Sorry to ramble…sad and frustrated, I should have bought the Subaru STI that my husband wanted, but no…I wanted the American Muscle Car…the one put together with duct tape.
This is horrible and you have my utmost sympathies, I really feel bad for you,
I know how I would feel. The Magnuson-Moss Act (the lemon law) covers your issues, here's a link that covers the basics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_Act

You might want to research some case law, however, I believe there are time limits. Have you spoken with your dealer?

Best of luck.

And for those of you who feel the need to say how many miles you have and no problems, you're just rubbing salt into the OPs wound. Read the starter post. She also posted up to get help, not comments questioning her integrity.

California Lemon Law states this:
Quote:
•In the first eighteen (18) months or first eighteen thousand (18,000) miles, after vehicle delivery
•Repaired for serious safety problem at least two (2) times
•Required repairs four (4) or more times for the same problem
•Out of service for a cumulative total of thirty (30) or more days
The paint on my car is a little off on the bumpers, no big deal, different materials and angles.

I had the rattling in the trunk and I had tightened the nuts holding the wing on previous to the rattle. Unfortunately I only knew about the four nuts, didnt know there were six. Took the trunk off and got the bolt out no problem.

I got my car in May, built in April, my car is #7460, I didnt even know they made 14,000 by May ???

I have 11,300 miles and no issues other than what I posted above, and I drive my car every single day. Sounds like you had a few issues that are annoying but not major and I'm not convinced the dealer isn't to blame for some of those problems. Good luck with your car, I hope you don't completely write off GM for these issues.

I'm sorry, but I do feel the need to mention miles and issues so that the OP and anyone else interested can see what other people are experiencing. The OP mentioned this being the last GM car they will purchase, my point of posting miles is to let the OP know that this is an isolated incident, not everyone is having the same issues and to not write off GM completely because of it.

My sympathies go out to the OP and I hope everything gets fixed correctly.

No need to explain to me, I understand your response. However, if you look through the posts, it sure seems that a few people here seem to have taken offense regarding the initial post or have displayed a rather flippant attitude to someone venting and expressing frustration with a lot of problems with her car. While most of her car issues can be fixed, there are a lot of them, and the paint thing is huge. Seems some have very little empathy and many responses are bordering on flaming her, probably because of the comments about GM - if you're not with us, your against us.

I will list the things I have fixed and then list the things I am going to get fixed soon, as well as some things that I am not even sure they will fix. :o(
I brought my Camaro to the dealer to have the following done when it only had 4884 miles on it.
Left Rear tail lamp had so much water in it that I could have put goldfish in it..no kidding!
My Chevrolet emblems on the bottom of the door jams would not stay in place..they were peeling badly.
Driver’s side door speaker was rattling bad, so they reinstalled it basically.
The dealer also performed the recall listed as this “HVAC RPG, ENG HARNESS INSP, REAR SPO OPEN CAMPAIGN IN VIS” Performed Programming, code 992DA1
My tires were also not holding air, so I paid to put nitrogen in them and it seemed to do the trick..not sure how or why?
My steering wheel was never in alignment from day one, so I had to take it in to have them make it straight and realign the whole car to fix the steering wheel. I had this taken care of at 5000k miles because they forgot to do it at my first trip to the service department.
On the passenger side of the car, the bottom of the body is coming off., the passenger side material under the front wheel well is coming off…that’s right it is hanging down. :o(
There is a clunking sound in my truck that sounds like a loose bolt when you open and close it.
That is all I have for now, I am very sad..I have a lemon.
We bought an Equinox and a Chevrolet Suburban before this, and have never really had a problem. If I could get my money back I would. If you spend 40k on a car, it seems a bit much to have to bring it in every couple of weeks. To top it off, they no longer give rentals; instead you have to travel around in their van. Have you ever tried that with two kids in car seats? (yes I am a mom with child seats in my camaro)
I honestly think this will be the last GM car we purchase. I really love GM’s new slogan, “MAY THE BEST CAR WIN” Chevy, I must say this YOU LOSE! Or maybe I lose, I am the one stuck with a lemon.
I guess I am just really sad, because I have been watching this car forever. GM said they took three years to develop it because they wanted it to be bug less. I like the car and the concept, just hate the issue and the constant feeling that it is going to fall apart while I go down the road!
Does anyone know how long I have for a lemon? What is the time frame for lemon law?
Sorry to ramble…sad and frustrated, I should have bought the Subaru STI that my husband wanted, but no…I wanted the American Muscle Car…the one put together with duct tape.
except for the speaker, I've had all the same issues you've had unfortunately. I have not taken it in to fix the alignment problem yet. I am experiencing a clanking as well with the clutch disc, a known issue. I am contemplating when to do that. I also have paint that is peeling off between the front bumper on the left side. Dealer can't fix that so I have to find a paint shop for that one before it gets worse. I did have many bolts come loose in the trunk, had that fixed though with the HVAC. I also had the issue with the coolant valve behind the glovebox gushing liquid. That has been fixed but the car since that day feels a little slower. Don't know if its my imagination. I too had water in the tail light, but not as bad as you describe it. However I want to focus on the other issues since bringing all these up to the dealer will take all day. Overall, I feel perhaps I too got a lemon, but it is too late to do anything at this point. I'm slightly over 3000 miles so who knows what will come next. I bought the Barton Short throw shifter but will install it after the clanking clutch gets looked at. After Christmas perhaps since I can't miss a day of work. All in all I know cars have their issues, however neither of ours should have this many after all the testing that was done. Just my opinion. Just get all fixed under warranty like I will do and see if we get a few months where we don't see a dealer or a mechanic.

It could have slipped when they put it on the truck. My neighbor bought a Mercedes E500 and kept complaining about the paint not matching and eventually Mercedes looked up the records for the car and it had been repaired at the factory. I have a 1SS and a Buick and both steering wheels are off a little to the left. I will live with this. By the way, my 1SS was also an April made pre-order that I got in May. My car is silver ice metalic and the shadows make the paint appear not to match sometimes. If you watched Ultimate Factories, you would see that the whole car is painted at once so if your paint indeed does not match, then it must have been re-painted.

For the record, my car does have every single problem listed. EVERY one of them! I even wrote verbatim what was on my warranty invoices..sorry you feel I am fishy and last but not least..I AM NOT A HE!
I believe you have a lemon also.

I'm sure one of the moderators can point you in the right direction.

On any production of a product zero defects is the goal. Unfortunately this is impossible.

You happened to get one of the defect cars that rolled off the assembly line and somehow made it through quality control.

You deserve your money back or another Camaro.

Good luck.

I'd see another dealer. Sorry to hear about your paint. My RJT looks pretty good...I only notice the orange peel when parked next to a BMW or other expensive ride.

Hopefully yours is just a lemon. One reason I bought my Camaro (other than raw looks) is because the Zeta platform was so universally praised, and made the 3 & 4th gens feel like go carts.

I've only had mine nearly 3 months. So far it's been perfect, but it's also not a DD & garaged 90% of the time.

Good luck!

Sorry to hear about all the problems. Does your car fall under the 60 days satisfaction guarantee GM has now?

I do believe the SHO does proves that companies can build cars out of the box that don't have problems.
Is the SHO a new car? I thought is was an update of the Taurus they were making for the past couple years, made on the same line and using similar methods and equipment they were using all along?

The Camaro is a low-volume car that is not based on something they made before in an all-new factory, etc.
