First, I LOVE Trans-Ams. I have owned 10 of them since 1987 and they were always my dream car. Had GM made Camaro's and Trans Am in 2010, I would have bought the T/A.

I don't know what it is about this TA conversion, but it looks, sorry, cheap. The back lights especially look like they just don't fit right. The T/A decals are too large. The wheels look strange. The interior looks really bad.

From the side, the car looks bad ass.

From all other angles though, I am really not sold at all. And what? $80,000? Give me a break!!!

The T/A in this image:

Looks great. The decals are still a little big, but everything else is nicely understated. Make a TA closer to this car, keep the cost of the mods under $15k, and you have a car that I would buy.
If I remember correctly, those wheels are similar to the late `70s Trans Ams.

My idea for fixing the taillights:

Go back to the Camaro style rear end, but combine the two housings on each side into one taillight each. There was a company that had an orange (I think) Camaro sketch for SEMA with this exact concept and I think that would be perfect for this Trans Am concept.

at least the 69 Trans Am shared the same generation as the 67-69 camaros. I just cant see how putting design cues from the 2nd gen T/A works on a 1st gen looking Camaro.

First thing to come to mind. Leave it to Linginfelter

still based on a 2nd gen trans am the 70 1/2 model, but at least Linginfelter's car looks better than that 'Bandit' car .

I think it looks pretty cool. Could have done more work on the front bumper to make it more "Trans Am" like, but I love that fire chicken on the hood. Wonder what the back looks like, I don't see any pictures of it.

Edit: Nevermind I see them at the bottom now, not a fan of those tail lights at all.

I like it...

it's for sale on ebay, $80k and reserve not met - but hey, it's a "FIRST AVAILABLE BEST INVESTMENT"
